AFL legend and teenage son in 'baseball bat' incident
Yahoo7 Sport Updated May 29, 2014
A former champion AFL player has allegedly been embroiled in an altercation with his teenage son involving a baseball bat.
Police have confirmed that they were called to an incident at the former player's house near Beaumaris on Monday night. The player can't be named for legal reasons.
Police spokeswoman Acting Sergeant Julie-Anne Newman said she could not comment further because the matter is before the courts.
AAP is reporting the matter was the subject of a court hearing on Tuesday, but charges are yet to be laid.
Melbourne radio host Neil Mitchell said the former player involved is a "huge name" in the AFL community.
"He is an AFL legend, much admired, much loved, very high profile," Mitchell said on 3AW.
