Looks like Adams season is over. Confirmed left hamstring. Out of the Prelim now and highly unlikely to get up for a grand final. Media reports are out in it now.

^ According to SEN report, it is a hamstring on the minor end of the scale, and he may be available for a GF if we get through the PF.

Loss of Adams is a huge issue for our midfield. But our team has throughout the year shown an amazing capacity for rising to meet the challenges that fickle fortune has cast our way.
I think Daicos comes straight in, and we will require Crisp, and maybe Bruzza (?) as well, to run through the middle. We will have to cover Tay's absence by adjusting the roles of all other mids. I don't think we will be considering the replacement of Tay with Finn McCrae in the conditions of a Preliminary Final. The rest of our midfield will have to find a way to step up.

If he did it in an intra club he’s going to do it during an actual hit out vs AFL opposition. Rather he did it this weekend and not next weekend.

Regardless of how minor his hamstring strain is, you'd think it would be a huge risk to play him in a GF, assuming we get there. Sadly, it seems Tay's season is over. It's a huge blow to him, after missing last year's Prelim, and will be a huge blow to our team. He and Mitchell are our only genuine in and under midfielders, so it's going to put immense pressure on Mitchell. In truth, JDG and Crisp play better as outside running mids than they do as bottom of the pack inside mids.

Daicos coming in is of a far greater upside then Adams going out, good player but some on here are acting like the sky is falling in.

Fact is this....he is out...we deal with it...if we can't win without him, we'll this is a very poor team we have built.

Love to see Mcrae come.in in his place...young and more speed...got.to be honest..Adams going out could be a blessing Adams and Mitchell in the same midfield is too one paced.

And like others...better he gets injured now then in game...too close to the big dance to get all worked up now.

That would be a 1st….the sub getting injured. Do we need a sub for the sub?

Maynard and Lipinski are also on track for full training in the new year, while Adams has continued to improve in line with his rehab program.
Slightly different tact but still around training, I’m hearing Hill is ripping it up at training and Quaynor is the big improver on the fitness KPIs.
... Um, we kinda need these guys NOW, in September. What are they, cricketers?

A minor hamstring strain can recover in a few days.

He will be eying Thursdays training in GF week to pass the fitness test. They will not be easy on him.

We’ve had more injuries to our best 22 in the last month than Brisbane has had all year.
They have had an absolute charmed run with Ashcroft the only player out who would be an automatic selection.

Its like from round 5 or with in 5 rounds this could be anything from round 1 in which i doubt or like rounds 2-5.

Really not sure on when exactly kruger is expected to be able to come back to play afl matches.

Does anyone have any idea or intel on kruger.

Any other player in the rehab group as well all i know cameron is the only other player in the rehab group.

The club have confirmed a low grade hamstring strain, which will force him out of the Prelim.

We ended the 2022 season with the following players out of action;

Tom Wilson (Back)
Harvey Harrison (Hamstring)
Reef McInnes (Shoulder)
Charlie Dean (Foot)
Brodie Grundy (Ankle)
Taylor Adams (Groin)

Tom Wilson (Back). There was talk of him playing in the VFL again had the team progressed further in September. He has returned as far as I'm aware.

Harvey Harrison (Hamstring). He missed the final 5 weeks of the VFL season, but returned back to full training not long before the season came to an end.

Reef McInnes (Shoulder). Returned to contact training late in the season and will be able to have an uninterrupted pre-season. He's one to keep an eye on for a big season.

Charlie Dean (Foot). Was able to run and do minor training drills late in the season. Will have a slightly interrupted pre-season. But will be a-ok by the new year.

Taylor Adams (Groin). This one is troubling. There have been recent reports of a delayed recovery. Adams will have an highly interrupted pre-season. He should be fit to play by the time round 1 rolls around, but he'll have some work to do to catch up to the fitness levels of the rest of the playing group.

Grundy was obviously traded, but for interest sake is able to join in full training once the Demons return.

Concerns that have come during the current off-season:

Brayden Maynard (Shoulder). Underwent reconstruction and will begin pre-season training in December on a modified program. Was substituted out of the win over Essendon in round 19 if you remember.

Pat Lipinski (Shoulder). Same as Maynard and has undergone reco.

Both Maynard and Lipinski are expected to transition into full training in the new year and are not in any doubt to play in round one. Recovery time is around three months for both.

Jordan De Goey (Shoulder). This is not a new issue, but channel 7 tonight making it sound disastrous. His AC joint needed surgery, which was planned. He will return to training in January. Can he not travel with this injury/surgery/recovery? 8)
... So, EVERYONE'S injured? Do we have any trolls on our list?
