Get real, folks. Collingwood is being $%$ed over, as usual.
How so? Isn't the 2 weeks the same penalty that Bailey Smith received last year? Not sure how we are being *&%ed over here, or by whom?

Hill doesn't play Ginnivan's spot. Also, he has kicked fewer goals in his entire career to date (41 games for 34 goals) than Ginnivan kicked last year.

Ginnivan kicked 19 goals in the first 11 rounds of 2022, over a quarter of them in one game. He kicked 17 goals in the remainder of the home and away season and then 4 goals in the finals. It was his first full season and he was still under 20 when it ended.

He's played 3 finals and already kicked more goals in finals than Dayne Beams did in his entire career (3 in 12 finals ).

Moreover, unlike most of the useless kicks we play in our forward line, Ginnivan kicks straight - 40.19 (and 4.1 in the finals). We don't have too many players who take their chances like he does. For a 2022 comparison: Mihocek 41.25, Cameron 20.8, Elliott 28.19, De Goey 18.18, Josh Daicos 15.11, McCreery 14.11, WHE 14.7.

We should stop imagining that the average players we recruit are better than the few good ones we already have. Hill might turn into a player - but if he does, it won't be playing the high-half-forward, starvation corner role. Also, Hill has managed 3 goals just once in his 41 games. Ginnivan did that every third game in 2022 (and, for the record, 3 times by round 15, 3 times in the last 7 rounds of the home and away and once in 3 finals).

I don’t know what’s more dumb……going into the toilets to run a line or not realising/checking that someone followed him into the toilets to suss him out.
Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy.

Flawed footy genius. Frustrating as hell. Gambling on him learning a lesson and not repeating his mistake/error of judgement. To me it’s a 50/50 proposition but Skids will probably know more about the odds of a repetition far more than me.
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm ☔️

Isn’t all of the above the usual outcome when a best 22 player misses games of footy and a lesser player comes in to replace him.
Ginnivans spot is now available, so he will be replaced and if my memory serves me correctly, Hill played a similar position at the Giants, only not as well. Hill doesn’t have a tank ( yet ), just like Ginnivan, so I wouldn’t think their roles on the day would be that dissimilar, except of course one ( the dumb one ) played it better than the other.
Hill can’t do much more than have a really solid pre season and by all accounts that’s what he’s done. Conversely, Ginnivan has just caused himself and the club a very unnecessary and unwanted distraction. So for the first two weeks at least, all those numbers on Ginnivans 2022 season don’t mean much at all. Right now, I’m thankful for the depth we’ve recruited because even before this season has officially started, we would be in a bigger hole without them.

I think being the leading news story on the Channel 9 News was well orchestrated by the club. Just look at who was running with it. Eddie's very own boy, Xavier.

The club was aware of this video already. If they were aware of it, other people in the industry would have been aware of it too. By getting this story out into the news sooner rather than later serves the following purposes.

-It prevents the story from being the main headline going into round one. Which would have been a major distraction for us at the start of the season. (You can almost guarantee that Robo and Caroline knew all about this and were sitting on it for a bit longer for this very reason)
-It allows the club to have the initiative and be on the front foot with punishment, statements, apologies etc.
-It gives Xavier McGuire the appearance of being an unbiased news breaker. Hence giving him some credibility in the industry.\
-It allows Ginni to be settled at the start of the season having already faced the wrath of the media (although with his two weeks suspension still to serve).

So definitely better that we had time to be prepared for this rather that have it dropped in the news in three weeks and be in damage control then for the opening round.

I can’t believe people are defending him.

He should be suspended for the entire year.

Replaceable. I guarantee you Hill will be a better player when they both end their careers.
Beware the swooping Magpie.

What of the first strike policy and has 7 News acted unethically here? It sounds like it’s been investigated behind closed doors a week ago considering how Ginni was prepared with his statement and the punishment handed down.,

One thing is for certain, the media response will be disproportionate to what Smith received.

no no no no no, the gutter snipe probably isn’t lucky enough to have Ginnie talent, charm and pay packet, if Ginnie is dumb enough to do drugs in a public toilet, so classy I might add, the. Good luck to the gutter snipe!

Disagree mate, a Ginnie was dumb or arrogant enough to get caught

Just because everyone else does it doesn’t make it a good idea, don’t follow fools off bridges as my dad would say!

So you’re okay with pervs filming you in the toilets? I’m not defending Ginnivan, but it’s ridiculous the person who filmed it gets a pay check and a holiday out of it. I’m out of work so I’m going to hang out at known footy player snorting hotspots with a GoPro and make myself a fortune!

I guess the only person happy about this is Jordan De Goey. 8)

Hehe,

I just got home full of happy feelings, shot a wedding yesterday, 2nd one ever, even got to shoot the bridal party with a bunch of cows! And then a junior tells me this! Lucky I’m not at the farm, I named my sheep Ginnie - because he’s a very naughty sheep!

My first thought was what I imagine to be Bruce’s voice, “he may be a dickhead, but he’s our dickhead, and we love him!’

Truth

Facts: a least 5 a club has done this in the off season, just a random guess. Clearly most are either smart enough to hide it, or have friends who like them enough not to film them for profit.

I’ll never get it, if you need to waste money on a drug that does you harm one way or the other to have a good time, check your life! Especially when you are lucky enough to have a golden ticket to life in the form of god given talent, charisma, and the chance to make millions doing something you must have loved at some stage, rather than slogging it out in a job that is more fitting to the level of intelligence of so many sports people, for minimum wage.

Stupid. For taking them, risking his health, his career, his income, his reputation.

I’m very pissed off right now, not the least because it’s not just him getting punished. damn hell, we play the scumbag scuzzy shithead premiers without their ducking cheat and 2 of their top forwards, who will now probably field the traitor! Without our little ball of magic, and with these crappy headlines hanging over us. We have a massive chance to not just win, which I think we would have anyway, but to blow the bastards out of the water.

**** you Ginnie, I love you but **** you, idiot. Grow up.

And I’ll add I hope the club is smacking him hard in private, where it hurts, because the suspensions are a slap on the wrist. Dickhead.

No I’m not ok with it, but I’m bright enough to know there are Scumbags out there who will seize the opportunity to make a buck, if I’m dumb enough to give them a reason. Thisis all on Ginnie. Not the drinks or anything else, if he can’t drink and make good decisions, don’t drink.
