They're up to 6, now. They may win 7 but they'll struggle against West Coast, Richmond and Geelong. With a bit of luck, they could get up to 14th. Dizzying heights for Carlton. I hope none of them suffer from vertigo.K wrote:^ Aren't there fixed two-year win quotas before that can happen? They're already up to 4 this year.

Posted this too soon. I watched St Kilda play last night. Carlton won't win 7.Pies4shaw wrote:They're up to 6, now. They may win 7 but they'll struggle against West Coast, Richmond and Geelong. Kayo's little scene-setter for last week's Adelaide Carlton blockbuster is "The Blues continue to win, and they could move up to 14th if they can secure another victory at the MCG against the Crows."
What a ride the bluebaggers are giving their supporters! No chance of any altitude sickness for them this year! It's the gentle curves of the Scenic Railway between 18th and 12th, rather than up and down the Big Dipper for Carlton. Still, it's what passes for "stability" at Princes Park.

Sadly, the weight of expectations proved a little too much for the boys from Spudses Park. With the world watching to see whether they could grasp the nettle and push to 14th, they failed by the barest of margins (well, 24 points, really - but when you're as bad as Carlton, that's the barest of margins). They now, unfortunately, sit 16th.
No Daisy, no Carlton.
No Daisy, no Carlton.

Sadly we'd have preferred it if Carlton won yesterday. And we'll also be hoping they can defeat Richmond this week coming.
But one thing thats funny from yesterday, was the Carlton supporters that got to Marvel early would have had to listen to our club song as the VFL team had a big win over the Northern Blues.

They fell about 190 points short of their aim against Geelong. Anyway, they finished a courageous 16th with 7 wonderful wins. This marks a turning point for them. They haven't won at least 7 games since 2016 and 2014. In 2017 and 2015, they went immediately backwards.
Here's hoping for more of the same from the boys from Spudces Park.

Blues supporters at work not happy today.
Giving Daisy his marching orders for youth, but keeping 36 year old Simpson and bringing back 33 year old Betts.
Wanting to deliver Martin and Papley and strike out on both.
No free agency interest from anyone and losing Coniglio a couple months back.
Could have pick 4, but moved to 9. Luckily for them, the Crows dropped off. Too bad they didnt get in and win a final. After 9, their next pick is 43. So they have to get 9 right.
They have a new coach, but they've added nothing to the playing list.
Stranger things have happened, but I can't see them making the top 8. On their day, they could knock over a better team. But they wont be able to do it consistently. Just prey they dont knock us off.

Here’s a serious stat, courtesy of the AFL website: Casboult is the first player in Carlscum’s history to play 100 games wearing number 41. Great for them to have something to cheer about.
Another interesting stat might be which Carlscum player has won the most games wearing 41. Casboult sits on 37 wins, 1 draw and 86 losses from his 124 starts.
