Ash Johnson and Jack Ginnivan could both be late outs tomorrow with Flu.

In terms of player injuries I make the following observations:

1) our fitness/ rehab team are currently doing an excellent job with the possible exception of Kreuger (whose courageous and fearless approach to playing causes some injuries), the players who are out tend to come back in ready to play at a high level,.

2) I would rather have a player come back and stay back than rush the process.

3) Jock McHale would never select a player who was not 'right' to go- I love that philosophy. He would always back-in the next player on the list to do the job.

4) I think that if we continue to be near the top of the ladder, players who are in any doubt (or are getting on- Pendles, Sidey, Adams, Mitchell) will be managed- this is prudent, not cocky.

5) As a person who is employed in a profession that prioritises the welfare of individuals as a KPI, the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of our people is the Number One priority.

I love this club, but I recognise how important respecting the dignity of the human being is.

Just looking at players to return (Howe, Lipinski, McStay), McRae seems pretty bullish they are in our ‘best 22’. For me - Howe in for Markov is the only obvious change. Who would make way for the others?

Howe is still a while away. Frampton comes in firstly for Markov. Lipinski not so straight forward it might be one of the small forwards or WHE may come down to form. Right now McStay doesn’t come straight in given the form of Johnson and Checkers.

I would play all three in the VFL for at-least their first game back. The club is professional enough to do this. Let them find form, like they did with Ginny.

He had a badly broken arm and a post op infection and is recovering. What's the fkn mystery? He'll be back when he's ready to play.

Injury Update: Round 11

Multiple players are tracking well to be available for selection in June.

Billy Frampton (Groin) continues to make progress as he recovers from a low-grade adductor injury. Frampton is on track to begin modified training drills this week.

Dashing midfielder Patrick Lipinski (Shoulder) is aiming to resume full training with the main group late next week. A return to play timeline is yet to be determined.

Following a positive review with his finger specialist, Dan McStay (Finger) is aiming to be available for selection for the side’s Round 13 King’s Birthday match.

Joe Richards (Hamstring) continues to make progress after undergoing a setback in his hamstring rehabilitation almost two weeks ago. A return to play timeline will be determined in due course.

Jeremy Howe (Arm) continues to work through a general conditioning phase while he develops further strength of his arm. Howe has commenced contact work and is expected to be available for selection post the mid-season bye.

Charlie Dean (Foot), who is on the Club’s Inactive List, is currently working towards biomechanical and strength markers as he prepares to re-commence running.
