Dogs were seen as a top 4 prospect at the start of the season.PyreneesPie wrote:Yeah, would have preferred that impressive win was against a different team eg Cats, Carlton, Richmond, Weagles, , but we gotta take them when we can
The nature of this victory shouldn't be understated.

Well, I enjoyed that!!
Grundy and our centre clearance work was first class.
Tyler had a great debut and geez i love his brother.
Mayne, Adams, Scotty all very good.
Thought Noble was very handy and Mihocek just brilliant.
A bit of Daicos magic.....this game had it all.
I wonder how the people who don't want this season to go ahead feel?
Go Pies!

The Season will be Completedswoop42 wrote:When you're watching your own team play and they're playing well the empty stadium really didn't take anything away from my enjoyment.
How about the rest of you?
The sad irony is that's the best we've played in round 1 for years in a season that may not be completed.
Ah well enjoy it while you can.
Geez the Dogs were surprisingly poor.
I am Da Man
Young Tyler is going to wrong foot a lot of opponents and I love the way they gave him good minutes in the middle.
Reckon we have found a ripper for many years to come.
Great to see he wasnt overawed by the crowd either. Its not easy playing your first game in front of absolutely no one

Gary Player “ the harder I practice, the luckier I get “
Agree. It’s good to get them out the way in a 17 round season ( if it’s completed ) I still reckon the Dogs will win more than they lose before it’s over. Sometimes you just don’t get it right in round one and the reality check can turn it round very quickly.Jezza wrote:Dogs were seen as a top 4 prospect at the start of the season.PyreneesPie wrote:Yeah, would have preferred that impressive win was against a different team eg Cats, Carlton, Richmond, Weagles, , but we gotta take them when we can

As for the Pies, with Treloar and Stephenson and others breathing down their necks, the players to come in will help to keep them all on track.

No agree and not doing that at all Jezza! I was replying to Pies4Shaw's post about what supporters needed from the first game of the "season" to lift their spirits.Jezza wrote:Dogs were seen as a top 4 prospect at the start of the season.PyreneesPie wrote:Yeah, would have preferred that impressive win was against a different team eg Cats, Carlton, Richmond, Weagles, , but we gotta take them when we can

I actually felt compelled to comment during the game thread about all the negative comments that were being posted, because we were playing so well against one of last year's finalists.

Solid effort and performance tonight. I like how we dominated the dogs and gave them very little in return. Showed composure under pressure. Our skills were great and the early signs are enough to show that we're looking to step up. Great body language too. Nice debut performance from Ty Brown and a lot to like all round. Expected a 3 goal win and us to put the cue in the rack but we ramped up the pressure and put the foot down which was good to see. Hopefully a sign of things to come. Go pies!!
Really? Are you sure? I'm not sure it's really a curly mullet.swoop42 wrote:Worst on tonight was surely Naughton's hair.
Curly hair and mullet should never be combined.
