TFFT. It looked bad. The kind of thing that can easily detach a retina or permanently damage the eyeball. Phew.LaurieHolden wrote:Collingwood champion Scott Pendlebury has been cleared of serious eye damage after getting a poke in the eye in the last quarter of the Anzac Day win over Essendon.
Pendlebury consulted an eye specialist and was cleared of serious damage from the blow. He will be re-assessed later in the week but is expected to be clear to play against the Crows in Adelaide on Sunday afternoon.

Re: Games experience named on this week's AFL injury lists
We’ve got the third highest injury list apart fromWest Coast and Sydney, who are both travelling very poorly at the moment,so we’re doing very well covering for our own injuries. And thank God about Pendlebury’s injury not being serious. It looked bad yesterday, and I immediately thought he would be out for a long time, given our strange run of freak injuries.LaurieHolden wrote:Games experience named on this week's @AFL website injury list :

Re: Games experience named on this week's AFL injury lists
Given that injury lists are more or less random, this tells you how scarily good we seem to be so far this year. Despite this, we just knocked off the top two teams on the ladder, neither of which had many injuries at the time. Cameron, Howe, Cox, Adams, Murphy and Lipinski are all B+ graders.doriswilgus wrote:We’ve got the third highest injury list apart fromWest Coast and Sydney, who are both travelling very poorly at the moment,so we’re doing very well covering for our own injuries. And thank God about Pendlebury’s injury not being serious. It looked bad yesterday, and I immediately thought he would be out for a long time, given our strange run of freak injuries.LaurieHolden wrote:Games experience named on this week's @AFL website injury list :

Well we lost Cox, was it late in 2021, after a seemingly innocuous finger to the eye in a marking contest, which required significant surgery and put him out for months if not remainder of the season?Meredith1965 wrote:TFFT. M I L L A N E 4 2 forever
So to get this straight coreect me if im wrong but this is where we stand in regards to injury status:
Cox waiting on results but likely return for the gws match
McStay 5 weeks away from AFL (finger bandages are off now for rehab still running around the oval)
Cameron 4-5 weeks away from AFL (like Gawn he too has a speedy recovery)
Howe 4-5 weeks away from AFL (no infection now for the healing still running aroudn the oval)
Lipinski 5-6 weeks away from AFL (comeing on leaps and bounds on his shoulder some say he is even 3 weeks away from AFL)
Cox is 2 weeks so miss crows and swans back for gws the rest looking around the same rounds give or take 1 or 2 rounds.
Have i got this right or not.
Just need some clarity on the situation.

Iirc, it happened in the 2018 GF right after he had monstered Richmond. Sliding door moment…..piedys wrote:Well we lost Cox, was it late in 2021, after a seemingly innocuous finger to the eye in a marking contest, which required significant surgery and put him out for months if not remainder of the season?Meredith1965 wrote:TFFT. All good news on the injury update
* Pendlebury saw a specialist after the game and has been cleared of any damage
A really clean bill of health after Tuesday afternoon's epic ANZAC Day victory over Essendon.
The only small issue to arise from the game was to Scott Pendlebury who was poked in the eye late in the game. Pendlebury was sent to a specialist after the game and has been cleared of any damage. The Club is hoping his eye will settle and he's expected to be available for this weekend's game.
In exciting news, Mason Cox has received a positive update from a specialist appointment in regards to the internal injuries around his spleen. He's been cleared to resume activities now and it's just a matter of grading up his workload as he progresses his conditioning process.
Mason's expected return is between rounds eight and nine.
Nathan Murphy (concussion), Aiden Begg (back) and Arlo Draper (concussion) have all returned to full training.
Murphy will return to full training this week and be available for selection. Begg and Draper trained fully last week and will also be available for selection, barring any hiccups in training on Friday.
Young defender Jakob Ryan's neck/shoulder injury is progressing well. He'll do some contact training at Friday's main session before being available for selection.
Joe Richards has started his running program as he works back to fitness from his hamstring injury. He's progressing really well with Round Nine being the soonest he would look to be available for selection.
Ruckman Darcy Cameron is tracking really well with his MCL recovery. He's been able to remove his knee brace for some levels of movement, with another assessment on that medial ligament this weekend. Depending on the result, he will be able to remove that brace and get back to running and other movements.
Patrick Lipinski (shoulder), Dan McStay (finger) and Jeremy Howe (arm) are all progressing well in their running programs with no major updates at the moment.
Similarly, Charlie Dean is working on an indoor program before he returns to running.
