[quote="Woods Of Ypres"]what is this 'disadvantaged' nonsense. Daw migrated to Australia around 10yrs of age, attended a private school in Werribee. He is basically an Aussie. From what I have been told, he is an ordinary bloke too (banging his mates' missus etc) can't keep is d**k in his pants.

Arguably Norths greatest ever player did the same thing.

If he was 17 at the time it was a Childrens court matter and the media are getting close to the wire as it is.They are probably constrained to being factual on this or the editor might be find himself on a contempt charge.

Not sure why some seem confused here. He was 17 at the time of the alleged events. There is always going to be some sensitivity around the reporting. Also, we were happy to play Marley for a while there, and for mine, he was facing more serious charges, of which we were fairly sure he was guilty.

And if it's a "race thing" explain Jurrah and explain Marley.

It would be Daw who if it wasn't for him being Sudanese.

He's played all of 12 senior games and his profile certainly far outweighs his output to date.

I'm having difficulty parsing your first sentence.

As for the second: he's the first Sudanese player to make it to the AFL, of course that lifts his profile somewhat. Still not sure of the point.

Nothing was made of Marley's race or ethnicity, it was his Collingwood affiliation that the media slavered over.

And Jurrah... his coverage was also fairly muted. Imagine the furor if Marley had gone at the guy with a machete (or axe, whatever it was).

The charges Daw is facing are RAPE charges, I don't give a flying **** that he was 17. This isn't punching a guy at a bar, this isn't grabbing a womans breasts and making lewd comments (Wayne Carey did that), this is rape. No way should Collingwood be pressured into dropping Marley over what should've been no more than an assault rap (guy's glass jaw made it GBH) and Norf be free to play someone with a rape charge hanging over them.

I feel sorry for Majak. Having some first hand knowledge, my daughter is ropable with the allegations.
There is a terrible fascinaction with the Sudanese lads from some of the young girls. This is what I believe to be in this case.

While I appreciate that there are false rape charges and the damage this does to men, it's the hypocrisy of the situation I find untenable. To have the AFL and the media demand we stand down Marley while he was facing GBH charges but say little to nothing about Majak's rape charges isn't right.

LOL, but why would Marley being Maori be even remotely relevant? He punched the bloke, didn't try to eat him.

I'm not on social media, but is that as eerily silent? I would hope the online feminists are going as nuts over this as they were during the St Kilda school girl/Tiprat and Montagna/Collingwood alleyway shenanigans episodes.

Those charges are very, very serious and yet this is buried under Rolf Harris' groping?
Correct. This has nothing to do with his race either, even though the PC merchants will try to spin it as such.

I can't believe he is available for selection according to the AFL and North, especially when Dimmy lent on us big time to suspend Marley until his trial was finished.
Of course he is innocent until proven, but these charges are far too serious for him to be allowed to play until the court case is over. Of course if he is found guilty he will never play again.
Marley had been found guilty and was waiting to be sentenced...just atad different...Im sure if Daw is found guilty he wont be allowed to play

Westbourne Grammar is in Truganina (out the back of Hoppers Xing)
MacKillop Catholic College is the private school in Werribee and that is the school he attended from Years 8-12. Before that the family lived in Footscray and for Year 7, he attended the local government school there.
