I can't understand why some Nicksters here are so angry at Ginni. Look at the facts and you understand why his management wanted to move him (afterall they are looking after themselves too). Personally, I was dissapointed to learn he is leaving. A crowd favourite and provides a lot of entertainment, plus he is young...we've heard the arguments.

I now move on and look forward to the draft picks, the pre-season, the new players fitting in the club...and ultimately ramming the opposition in Round 1.

AND when the Hawks, our bogey team, beat us yet again, our record against them is shocking, they even defeated us this season, and he boots goals against us in a vital Final, we can be real happy hey ?? :o

After 2020 we shouldnt be too stressed.

We've improved our list. Adams didnt fit int he midfield anymore, Ginni wasnt best 22 and perhaps he gets there next season but I'd be lying if I was confident.

Schultz slots into our best 10 at least. Adams had an anchor and Ginni no way.

We're in the window, not many premiership teams try and trade for pick 1. Pies more than any other side have perfected the moneyball team so I am very happy with the current state.
Schultz is no doubt better than Ginni, but we gave up pick 34 and a future round 1 pick and Ginni

I dont think Schultz is N. Daicos 2.0 here lol

um.... go watch the highlights reels! Schultz tackles and THEY STICK LIKE SUPER GLUE!

he doesnt have to be Nick Daicos!

The full deal.

Collingwood gets: 33, Haw's F2 + Haw's F3
Hawthorn gets: Ginnivan, 39, Coll's F2 + Coll's F4

Clearly toxic. This is an unusual trade and the current management at Collingwood are not mugs, by any stretch.

There is a deeper story here.
Potentially as critical as, sack JG or lose the playing group, if any rumours are true.

Long and short, the new Collingwood hasn't put a foot wrong and I trust the management we have in place.

Once the Shultz deal went through the writing was on the wall. I was happy for him to stay but he was always going to be under the hammer from the umps which is a huge handicap.
More interested on who we can get as a good tall for our backline with both Howe and Murph on their last legs.

It’s what happened with Grundy this year on KB, he kicked a goal & in the end, it was the difference.

I was upset Grundy left, I was upset that TA left, I am now upset that Ginni has left.

With Grundy & TA they don’t have medals, Ginni does & now his face is in every GF poster we own, it saddens me he is no longer at the Club but at the same token, I don’t want anyone at CFC if they’re not going to commit 100%

A forward that kicks the amount of goals he does and tackles almost as well as McCreery and can run through the center plus has an established consistent record is a late first round pick for mine.

Which is predicated on them actually making finals and on recent performances that won't be any time soon (Maybe not before Hawthorn ships Ginnivan off to the Gold Coast).

agree

In fact, without knowing the backstory, this may be a win for Collingwood and we owe Hawthorn a thank you - Graham Wright's skill might have shone through. Actually not kidding.
Everyone needs to take a moment to think about what's actually going on here.
