#2 Jordan De Goey

... but i thought he was supposed to be traded because he accidentally drove home from a party over the limit. I thought Goldsack gave him a message proving that he was a selfish footballer who couldn't fit in at Collingwood. i thought a second round pick would be better than keeping this cancer at the club.

Great news, but 2 years seems a bit in no man's land to me. Yes, it gets the Roos of our backs but it just means the circus will be back in town too soon. Would have thought 3 years for a 22 year old would have been the norm, 5 years is perfect but can understand that length may not be desirable. When is the CBA up for re-negotiation? Wouldn't be 2 years away by any chance?

^^He was getting $1M/year offers. He wasn't going to take too many years on a reduced salary. We all know he's not worth $1M yet, but in 2 years he'd be much closer.
Two years was the same as Josh Kelly signed for.

Well done boys!
If he keeps on improving, he'll get $1 million a year from us in 2 yrs time. He's ours for another 10 years I reckon.Monco Matt wrote:Great news, but 2 years seems a bit in no man's land to me. Is now showing the maturity I wish he had shown as a 20yo. The club appears to be awarding a lot of two year contracts so is that becoming the norm now? I would have liked 3 year contracts for Stephenson and De Goey. Wells was a 3 year. Mayne was a 4 year. May or Lynch will be a 5 year. Our one club career players deserve longer than 2 year.
