Could still work out that way we deserve the Friday night slot.

Yeh I agree with you too. I just have a feeling we will get a Saturday twilight slot.

I rather play on the Friday night.

It should be Friday night.

The last time there wasn't a Friday night Prelim was in 2003. Would be unusual to see us play on Saturday from our position.

2004 = Port Adelaide (1st) vs St Kilda = St Kilda had a 7-day turnaround
2005 = St Kilda (4th) vs Sydney = Sydney had a 7-day turnaround
2006 = Sydney (3rd) vs Fremantle = Fremantle had a 7-day turnaround
2007 = Geelong (1st) vs Collingwood = Collingwood had a 7-day turnaround
2008 = Geelong (1st) vs W Bulldogs = W Bulldogs had a 7-day turnaround
2009 = St Kilda (1st) vs W Bulldogs = W Bulldogs had a 7-day turnaround
2010 = Collingwood (1st) vs Geelong = Geelong had a 7-day turnaround
2011 = Collingwood (1st) vs Hawthorn = Hawthorn had a 7-day turnaround
2012 = Sydney (2nd) vs Collingwood = Collingwood had a 6-day turnaround
2013 = Hawthorn (1st) vs Geelong = Geelong had a 7-day turnaround
2014 = Sydney (1st) vs North Melb = North Melb had a 7-day turnaround
2015 = Fremantle (1st) vs Hawthorn = Hawthorn had a 7-day turnaround
2016 = Geelong (2nd) vs Sydney = Sydney had a 6-day turnaround
2017 = Adelaide (1st) vs Geelong = Geelong had a 7-day turnaround
2018 = Richmond (1st) vs Collingwood = Collingwood had a 6-day turnaround
2019 = Richmond (3rd) vs Geelong = Geelong had a 7-day turnaround
2020 = Port Adelaide (1st) vs Richmond = Richmond had a 7-day turnaround
2021 = Melbourne (1st) vs Geelong = Geelong had a 7-day turnaround
2022 = Geelong (1st) vs Brisbane Lions = Brisbane had a 7-day turnaround

2023 = Collingwood (1st) vs Port Adelaide/GWS = Port/GWS have a 6-day turnaround if scheduled for Friday night

Since 2004, Hawthorn's 2012 side is the only team to finish Minor Premiers, win the QF and host a PF on Saturday instead of the usual Friday night slot.

Every other Minor Premier who won their QF in this time period has hosted a PF on the Friday night.

There's 3 instances where the SF winner has had a 6-day turnaround for a Friday night Prelim. On two occasions, this was us in 2012 and 2018. Funnily enough, the team with a 6-day turnaround has won 2 of those 3 PFs.

The advantage of finishing top is surely to have the Friday night prelim.

There should be no equalisation, we would have played 1 game in 4 weeks! Give the minor premier some sort of advantage.

Also, that no-atmosphere prelim in 2019 vs GWS in the cold and wet was a miserable day, no atmosphere, no loud crowd advantage…

They will schedule Brisbane prelim on the Friday night given whoever wins will have to travel for the grand final.

If they have a twilight prelim on the Saturday, the AFL & broadcasters will want the Pies playing to get people watching on TV.

Spare Barcode needed

Post by dillo_09 »

Hi All

Its me again and again I am looking for a spare barcode for the GF ballot.

ANY barcode but preferably a Legends barcode.

I am also VERY happy to make a SIGNIFICANT contribution to your membership cost either re-imbursing some of this years or some of next years, whichever way you want to think of it.

Hopefully someone may know a member who is unable to attend, cant afford the ticket, buys a membership but doesnt go or would just prefer the cash instead of attending the game.

However based on todays email I need it before midday tomorrow.

Fingers crossed that someone can help a 37year member (20+years on Nicks) get his wife to the game!!

Cheers
Dillo

Legends don't go in the ballot, they have a guaranteed ticket.
Sent you a pm, I'm priority 2.

Can’t get thru to the club, if anyone has a spare priority barcode they can’t use let me know

Yep, think I'm out of luck.

Club saying no social club addition is showing up against my membership, although my physical card says otherwise!
I've sent photos and i'm awaiting an email, but I won't hold my breath :(

Is there a chance anyone out there has a spare GF ballot barcode?

That is incorrect. Legends members must still enter the ballot. We are in the priority 1 group. If we don’t go in the ballot the guaranteed ticket is gone.
