In 5 of his 6 games this season he was ranked in the top handful of pies players. How shit was that? It's clear who has forgotten....

Just for the record, these are Grundy's stats for the six games he played this year.....

Round..................Kicks...HB...Dis...M...HO...T...Goals
1 vs St Kilda...........9.......8....17.....2...37....5...0
2 vs Adelaide.........4......11....15.....2...29....2...1
3 vs Geelong.........11......9.....20.....0...24....8...0
4 vs WC Eagles.....14......5....19......5...33....6...0
5 vs Lions...............6.......8....14......0...26...0...0
6 vs Essendon........9.......7....16.....6....33...2...1

Which don't look too bad. Not $1mil per year good, just not too bad.
Disposal efficiency

Rd1:52%
Rd2:80%
Rd3:50%
Rd4:47%
Rd5:42%
Rd6:81%
Also averaged under 3 marks per game & kicked 2 goals.

That ain’t worth a million bucks

^ i think the problem is he covered over the clearences cracks. When we lost Treloar it became a chasm which further uncovered his not so great tap work.
Then going back to other general ruckman traits which is marks around the ground he is well below standard and also below on goals but ruckman who kick goals are worth 1mil.

Boils down to me that his worth to the team was 1mil when we signed him up, it is not that now.

^ Treloar was always part of the problem. He did almost no attacking running from a stoppage clearance. It will be interesting to watch Grundy tapping to Petracca, Brayshaw, Viney and Oliver and Melbourne obviously knows that. He is almost certainly leaving but let's not pretend that we will become better as a result of any of this year's trading. We will have a worse list (and, in particular, no AFL-standard first ruck) but, hopefully, one that is more suitable for the game plan the Coach wants to play.

Respectively disagree.
Whilst no superstars are coming in, they all address gaps on our list. Having a 25% better ruckman than Cameron (in some ways) does not.

He's not a "25% better ruckman than Cameron". He is the only first-ruck on our list. Cameron is a solid second ruck/forward but none of the other rucks available to us demonstrate any capacity to prevent the opposition clearing the ball from stoppages. The players coming in do address gaps in our list (although one or two of them look to be actual potatoes - I just hope the Club now has better ability to assist the worth of players than has been the case for the last decade, since most of the players we have recruited as trades or free agents have been hacks). Be that as it may, we have obtained all of them without trading Grundy, so I'm not sure how that could be a relevant proposition. It'd be nice if we had something useful to do with Grundy's salary, when he is traded out - but it appears we may want to piss it up the wall recruiting Mitchell.

You'd have to hope so considering we've accepted pick 27. Ridiculous.
As P4S has stated, Grundy feeding Petracca etc is going to be hard to watch. We may have just gifted them a further period of top 4 finishes.

I won't be booing him (I won't be cheering him either).

Thanks for the memories, esp that last minute goal to deny Richmond
