^ We all know the League is as corrupt as the Mafia, obviously a leak, has to be, this was pointed out to me by my sis in law too, it stinks like a 3 day old fish left in the fridge.

The problem isn’t the counting or the leaking or corruption. The umpires just get it wrong consistently. It is not, in any event, the way to judge your entire League’s MVP - you do that at the end of the year looking at the whole body of work, not by giving equal weight to good games against Richmond and against Sydney and then tallying them up week by week.

The players who should have won Brownlows and didn’t are mostly the actual all-time greats of the game. Does anyone seriously think Matthews and Bartlett and Pendlebury shouldn’t have received an award that Tony Liberatore and Shane Woewoeful did get?

I don’t really think there’s room for a “best in comp” player accolade that goes to someone who doesn’t perform in September or doesn’t even get there. They don’t give coach of the year to the coach of a team that doesn’t impress at the business end, so why do they do it with players?

So our premiership last year was rigged?

I wonder how the four umpires work out the votes. Does the loudest most assertive umpire win the discussion? Is it a majority decision? Or does "the senior umpire" make the decision? It would be interesting to know.

A major sponsor is a big betting agency.

Players get rubbed out for even walking into a betting shop.

The AFL climbs into bed with one and allows betting ads on football.

No major sport elsewhere would be allowed to get away with it.
