As J Brown just said on Fox, if for example Pendles had been the culprit, not Bruzz, the narrative would be very different. And if the bloke on the other end was Petracca, for example, not a bloke whose lights go out when a fly lands on him, he mighta got up and played on. I hope the club take this all the way to the Privvy Council if necessary. F&@k the AFL.

I still don’t understand, can anyone enlighten me? The actual process is for the MRO to grade it. Is there an escalation to the football boss or has she gone rogue? If she’s breached her own process surely we can argue that?
The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.

All we have to do is run the clips of the Duncan, Cripps and McCartin incidents.

If they can all be cleared to play Maynard must as well.

IF Bruzza goes for fooking 3 weeks, its time to fire up the Molotov cocktails, and take to the streets, enough of this shit, Hall and Cripps get off on far, far worse incidents. This stinks like 3 day old fish left in the fridge.

And in the end,all she does is harm us and our premiership chances, but trying not to appear biased,
Bruz will get off and she knows it but does not want to own it

Van Rooyen only a week because McStay wasn’t concussed. Went past the ball, raised the elbow, got McStay in the head who went down dazed and had to leave the ground for concussion tests … but only cops a week.

I believe the MRO goes through the footy boss with his findings, but she and the legal counsel apparently are involved in the process.

Another story says Gill and Dillon were both involved as well.

But basically the AFL actually charges people, but the MRO is supposed to be an independent person doing the review each week but they still have the power to charge people or appeal tribunal decisions.

The Match Review Officer and executive general manager of football Laura Kane graded the incident as careless conduct, severe impact and high contact, drawing a minimum three-match ban and means Maynard's season could be over.

New football boss replacing Brad Scott.
Thanks Eddiesmith. Do you know her football background?
Lawyer who was a club president at local footy level then got a job at the Pauperoos.
Ms Kane’s AFL and club experience across 10 years has included the positions of General Manager Strategy and Football Operations and Head of Football Operations at the North Melbourne Football Club, before joining the AFL as GM Competition Management.

She was also part of the AFL’s GenW Women’s leadership program, along with both the AFL and AFLW Competition Committees, and has led the AFL Football Operations department since May 2023, following Andrew Dillon’s appointment as AFL CEO-Elect.

And he chose poorly. Nearly every suspension is a result of a poor split second decision.

Just because you have 0.35 seconds doesn't absolve you of the consequences of your actions.

You can't argue that you went through the red light 0.35 seconds after it turned red.

Exactly. Bruz chose to turn his body. He chose the more difficult action.
