Jimmy Bartel is reportedly talking to Collingwood about replacing Graham Wright as Pies footy boss.
...Collingwood see it as an absolute priority to replace him before the 2025 season, with Bartel understood to be a leading contender. But SEN's Donohoe told AFL Trade Radio that he believes the former GWS footy director could snub the Pies position and instead head to the Demons due to his close relationship with coach Simon Goodwin.

Wright stuff: Ex-Pies footy boss sounded out for Blues CEO role
Carlton have sounded out Collingwood’s premiership-winning ex-football boss Graham Wright about potentially taking over as chief executive from Brian Cook in an orderly handover.

Reading it now, yeah doubt it. He's a senior admin, not a intern.
"Under the potential succession plan, Wright would join the Blues in a senior role and work under Cook, the game’s longest-serving and most decorated club chief executive, until later next year when Wright would take over as CEO."
Having said that if we lose Wright to Carlton, and they win a flag, then I say send in the troopers to hunt down Kelly and his gang...definitely is a lynching offense.
Personally I think it's a case of bored journo's with nothing to (w)right about till the trade period.

I get it, Brian Cook is a legend and it would be good to learn from the best. He's also 69 so yeah, due to retire. I just don't know what he'd actually be teaching Wright.
And then again the real crux of it could be revenge on Browne and Ned. Faaaark....maybe it's true. Will make for an interesting Copeland should it be announced before then.

Why a "snub"? Why not a "politely decline"?
Hyperbolic journos do my head in.
