TankingCarlton...
Geelong season high 31 points from their defensive 50 today - shows something is wrong with Carlton's defensive setup.
Yes Carlton are undermanned but there is still a fragility there.
Inaccuracy so costly.
Lack of variety with forward 50 targets. Too predictable.
Super frustrating match.
We blew it completely.
I hate those shit cauliflower and their stupid hairbands
Peak now you cauliflower we'll @#$%&! you in September
Sorry, I realise you probably aren't in the mood for technical analysis but I can't help myself
Voss has some work to do. You cannot let the opposition score that many easy goals running it into an empty forward line. That was peak Teague energy
We need some soldiers and god damn do we need our defensive structure to tighten up.
Ain’t gonna win finals with this profile - leaking like an Irish made submarine.
18.10 from 45 inside 50s.
Our defence sux and I'm a little worried about the next few weeks. We struggle with turnover/transition and our defence can't keep up.
Our goal kicking sux and it's not the first time. Why are we so inaccurate and whyyyyyyy does it occur when the other team can kick them with their eyes closed?
Some very bad misses there.
Umpiring was crap and just made it so frustrating to watch when they constantly got away with dropping the ball and those rugby throws.
We kicked ourselves out of it. The umpiring was shit even worse than usual. But at the end of the day our inaccuracy in front of goal was the biggest culprit. Geelong shouldn't feel to great about beating a depleted Carlton team by only 13 points with an armchair ride from the umpires.
Bad kicking is bad football, we only have ourselves to blame. Having said that the umpires were very poor.
i think they exposed our fragile defence. i think the injuries made the defence a glaring problem and weakness. but even at full strength, the way really good teams can shred us, is a concern for september.
pies will be another big game to see exactly where we are at.

BigFooty (Carlton)...
Not interested in talking about the umps. 8 behinds in the first quarter and starting the fourth quarter off with 4 behinds is diabolical and good teams aren’t going to let you off the hook for that crap.
Geelong too classy
They kicked straight we didn't. Simple as that.
Charlie, Durds and TDK miss set shots at start of the 4th.
Cats go back and nail the next two set shots with no fuss.
That 10 minutes was micro example of the whole night.
One of the biggest what ifs games I can remember in a long, long time.
Umpiring was a disgrace.
We really need to practice kicking at goal.
Defence is atrocious at times.
Bad kicking is bad football and both losses this year have come from inaccuracy in front of goal.
Forget Coles and Woollies.
We need a senate enquiry into that bald umpire.
Kicked ourselves out of it
Need some troops back quick and 3 wins in the next 3 games to get bak on track
We seem to struggle getting space in the forward line. My kingdom for a lead, mark and easy shot on goal. We kicked ourselves out of it.
Not converting our chances umpires killed us
Collingwood, Melbourne and Sydney next 3 weeks will test us
Make no mistake, that was a horrendous result. Score board flattered us in the end. That was a 5 goal loss to a team that played in awful conditions last week. We should have ran over the top them. Not the other way around. We need some troops back asap. We need to make changes. Hollands has got to go. Owies the same. s**t performance. s**t result. Just s**t.
Some of the worst kicking I have ever seen from this side.
Damn you Sherrif for playing with my head!
McKay and curnow are good players but sadly never gonna win us a flag
Are you still allowed to boo the umpires off these days? We were absolutely ****ed by them today.
66 I50’s us, 45 them
Efficiency I50 62% them, 45% us
There’s the diff folks
Not an overly concerning result other than the annoyance of not banking 4 points and if we keep letting games slip like this it will hurt us in the hunt for top 4 towards the end of the year.
Reality is we beat ourselves with poor kicking tonight, geelong cant win the ball and we kept giving it to them. Team defense needs to lift or collingwood will grandma goal us all day front running like the cats did off the rebound, can't afford any back to back losses.
Had enough of it to win.
s**t the bed.
So poor going inside 50.
Predictable
Umpires killed us.
Frustrated.
Good night.
Very disappointed. When the game was there to be won in the first half we were didn’t capitalise and paid the price.
Injuries don’t help but I can’t help feel we’re not a top 4 side.
It's a simple blueprint to beat us...pressure our midfield with pace and watch the holes open up ahead of the ball.
Bad loss. Don't want to say it was in the bag if we kicked straight, but you can't expect to win games with 2. 8 in a quarter and piss away the first 5 minutes of the last like we did. This could do bad things to our confidence.
Terrible result with the filth next. Same issues every year.
And sliding down the ladder we go to 6th position. That Adelaide game may come back to bite us in the arse down the track.
General field kicking and goal kicking not up to AFL standard and hasn't been for years and that skill is more important now than it's ever been. Probably the worst "bang for buck" side in the league. No players who can break a line either is a concern.
It was also 33 points with 6 to go. We kicked junk time goals to paper over the cracks
We just lack the ball skills and polish that teams like Geelong, GWS and Collingwood have.
Those teams look so much more professional than we do.

A few of my footy mates who know a bit about footy think Carlton will start too slide in a few weeks and teams will steam roll them and possibly miss finals.
They say their game is too focused on a few and lack depth across the park.
Solid in the middle but then what and forward line is too McKay Curnow focuseed. Cut them out and you win there.
See what happens they say but they say the Blues lack fight and dont stand up when things against them.
They say they like things going their way all the time.
