Tholstrup, Hardeman and Archie Reid

Hardeman reads as the one with innate leadership qualities / maturity that you would expect are better suited to allow him to settle into Club life / post relocating from W.A.

Tholstrup clearly is a lad. He might present a more challenging task in getting him to settle post leaving W.A., and into the discipline of AFL.

You would think either would be more likely to press to get an AFL game within 2 years than a key position project player like Reid.

Still if they took Reid, and enticed Fischer McAsey through the MSD, there's the two elusive young bookend prospects we've been looking to develop for years.

From purely a needs point of view and likely landing positions between first and second picks we have, I'd like:

1. Charlie Edwards
2. Arie Schoenmaker
3. A Reid

(First Pick)

1. A Moir
2. George Stevens
3. Zane Zakostelsky

Like the idea of recruiting Fisher McAsey to our VFL side would be a stroke of genius. He gets to be a part of the club without huge pressure. Gets to see his contemporaries succeed from afar, whilst qualifying his true passion without giving up a list spot.

In some Phantoms you can get 200cm key back Murphy and 203cm key forward Reid, add 213cm Condon mid year and your future bookends and ruck would be sewn up, let me dream.

Just missed Murphy here but still got a big key defender in Zako and Reid as well:

Got a couple of defenders in this one:
https://www.espn.com.au/afl/story/_/id/ ... iders-more

Pies Bid matched: Gold Coast - Will Graham
SUNS Academy/Allies MID/DEF, 186cm, 81kg
ESPN draft rank: 35

Graham has received an invitation to Marvel Stadium so clubs are considering placing a bid in the first round. It makes sense, given Graham's speed, physicality and composure form an exciting package for a midfielder. He also played off halfback where his defensive instincts were impressive for the Allies.

25. Collingwood - Luamon Lual (pronunciation: Loo-mon Loo-al)
GWV Rebels/Vic Country DEF, 181cm, 71kg
ESPN draft rank: 26

Lual is right in the first-round frame, and his athletic profile and ball use would suit the reigning premiers to a tee. The Rebels defender plays above his height with an excellent vertical leap, intercepting and kick-starting transition with neat ball use. Lual is a Western Bulldogs NGA prospect but can only be matched after pick 40.

If not Lual? The Pies have been heavily linked to Koltyn Tholstrup but the physical forward will likely be gone by this stage. Talls Archer Reid and Wil Dawson may come into calculations, but are more likely to be taken in the second round.

36. Collingwood - Wil Dawson (pronunciation: Door Son, as in shut the bloody door son)
Gippsland Power/Vic Country DEF, 200cm, 86kg
ESPN draft rank: 44

Dawson has suitors in the second round with the key defender demonstrating impressive touch below his knees for a defender of his size. He's played through the ruck and had stints up forward, but it's as a key defensive pillar where his strength and instincts are best utilised. The Pies have a need for height down back and have been linked to the stout tall.

Im liking the looks of Logan Morris. He probably has a couple more centimetres to grow and at 192 cm he could command a
key forward position simply on the grounds he looks to me very comfortable with his marking and does seem to play tall.
His body type looks like it will fill out to an imposing type, strong shoulders, long arms and his grip on the ball looks strong. ...
dare I say Carey like. There you go thats my 3am bold and slightly OTT prediction.:)

Roberts and Moir in this one, a lot of punters pair these two for us because they are supposedly the best distributors in the draft at our price points:

Does anyone know where pick 72 suddenly came from for us? Fairly certain we only had: 19, 33, 80 and 98?

The chewing up of multiple picks by Gold Coast, Hawks, Bulldogs and Sydney to get father-sons or NGA kids drags our Pick 80 in... May be lower than 72
Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away...

Each team has submitted their list before the draft. Some clubs prior to 80 have not got the list spots available thus reducing it to 72.
