Need a serious 200cm KPD asap so Murphy can slip over to Howe's position, he's been fantastic to date but concussions aside he's not the ideal size for the assignments he's getting and maybe that has contributed to the heavier knocks.

Somewhere we need to find a monster old fashioned FB with a bit of pace - to match the top FF's in the comp and also not get run off when the ball hits the ground.

Total agreement Kings a big servant of the club with a heart as big as Phar Lap's.
Perhaps from a VFL team or that level interstate.

^ few fit the 200cm physical requirements. We've got the break glass in case of emergency Frampton at 201cm.
Jake Kolodjashnij is out of contract Restricted Free Agent in 2024. I'd settle for an inch or two off for a better footballer. It'd be nice to get one back on Geelong. Then again, we don't want to lose our heads like Essendon did on McKay.
A shame Sam Taylor is stitched up by GWS. You could build a defensive team around him.

Yeah Framo is a bit limited but he's a whole hearted footballer and very coachable in that he carries out his assigned roles.
If Checkers has taught us anything it's that there are rough diamonds out there in the next level down who for one reason or another never got the opportunity to shine.
When you are the premier nobody is going to give you a leg up on strengthening your list out of the goodness of their hearts so the best strategy is to seek quality outside the presumptive best talent pool.

With so many Vets and so many kids it feels like we could be on the verge of a dynasty or about to drop off a cliff, but if you put a team together excluding everyone over the age of 28 you get an idea of the future and if you can drip replace stars to sustain a dynasty.

For mine it's all about the keys, our mids are elite and relatively young, adding a Smith or Holmes will top it off nicely, but the keys outside of the 2 bookends are up in the air.

Your future newbie team looks considerably weaker than this year's GF team, surprise, surprise. Experience means a lot towards winning a flag. This newbie team wouldn't even get in the top four, maybe not even top eight IMHO. You might argue some might step up.

Of course Fly would recruit more old heads with ready talent (à la Mitchell) to fill the void and provide the glue needed to make the next, younger Collingwood machine GF ready.
