Interesting discussion on Tradies podcast re Adams from about 5.00-minute mark. They pointed out the 3 factors in his move ~
1. Mitchell taking his role, and being forced to play a HFF ;
2. Security of tenure being offered from the Swans ;
3. They then suggested Adams wanted extra time from the fitness staff to prove his fitness given he still had minor hamstring awareness. Regardless, the Club asked him to go full bore at training on the Tuesday where Adams wanted that to be pushed back to Wed or Thursday, and the Club made a call.

So looks like Sydney no longer have pick #25 (traded it to Nth Melb) - so they cant give that up for either of Grundy (who cares) or Adams (obviously we care about that one).

What they now have is #33 and #44 (from North) as well as an end of first rounder next year (from North as part of their package). That would be nice (probably be something like #19-21 next year) - but that's unlikely to be included in an Adams deal IMO.

Yep with Swans trading out pick 25, I dont see how we get the Adams deal done. We shouldnt be accepting the 33rd pick. Melbourne already knocked back pick 46 and pick 33 is probably earmarked for Grundy.

I wouldnt be too upset to keep Adams even if we get nothing next year.

Pick 19 next year sounds great but I cant see swans giving that up

Why not end of first round next year? That and a swap of later picks. I think it will get done.

I don’t think 33 is too bad. I think because Taylor wanted to go and we are Premiers we help ease the path for it to happen. The guys been a warrior for us and his heart is broken. I think he couldn’t have faced being around all those guys who now have a Premiership and he doesn’t, plus he’s gotta look after his financial future. If he played in the GF he wouldn’t have gone anywhere. Good luck to him. Now let’s replace him with the Freo bloke.

He'll get a round of applause from me when we play Sydney.

Well, the first time, anyway...
