This is a topic of today and tomorrow. Not to be neglected by any football administration.
I have heard/read the odd Nickster throw in AI comments here and there...

I think that this is a critical issue.
AI has an enormous potential to revolutionise all aspects of sports science and recruitment strategies.
We will need to recruit with extreme urgency AI specialists to liaise with Jared Wade, Derek Hine etc
Free Julian Assange!!

Collingwood coaches can consider several actions or responses:

Explore the Technology: Collingwood coaches can explore the potential of CoDA as a new tool in their coaching toolbox. They should take a keen interest in the technology, its capabilities, and how it can be integrated into their coaching methods.

Assess Fit and Feasibility: The coaches should assess whether CoDA aligns with their coaching philosophy, strategies, and objectives. They should also evaluate the feasibility of implementing AI technology within their coaching structure.

Engage with Deakin University: Given the interest in the technology from football clubs, Collingwood coaches could engage with Deakin University researchers to learn more about CoDA's features, customization options, and potential benefits specific to their team.

Training and Familiarization: If Collingwood decides to adopt CoDA, coaches and staff may need training to understand how to use the AI tool effectively. They should familiarize themselves with its capabilities and limitations.

Integration into Decision-Making: Coaches can consider how to integrate CoDA into their decision-making processes during matches. This could involve using the AI tool to receive real-time feedback on team performance and make tactical adjustments accordingly.

Complement, Not Replace: Emphasize that AI, including CoDA, is meant to complement the coaching staff's expertise, not replace it. Coaches should continue to rely on their intuition, knowledge, and experience while using AI as an additional resource.

Monitoring Accuracy: Coaches should closely monitor the accuracy of the AI-generated recommendations and predictions. They can provide feedback to the developers to improve the system over time.

Openness to Technology: Collingwood coaches should maintain an open mindset towards adopting new technology, even if they decide not to use CoDA. They should continue to explore and evaluate technological advancements that can benefit the team's performance.

Resource Consideration: Recognize that the adoption of AI technology might require additional resources, such as data collection and analysis. Coaches should assess whether they have the necessary resources and support for its implementation.

Community Level Consideration: While the article primarily focuses on professional football, Collingwood coaches should also consider whether AI tools like CoDA could be useful at lower levels of the sport, such as community leagues or youth development programs.

In summary, Collingwood coaches can respond to the article by being open to the potential benefits of AI technology like CoDA, exploring its suitability for their coaching methods, and considering its integration into their decision-making processes while maintaining a commitment to their coaching expertise and philosophy.
