The Magpie tattoo - how to update?

Post by WhyPhilWhy? »

The magpie tattoo on my ankle from 2010 needs an update, I am very please to say - but how to best do it?

Another magpie on the other side?

Add 2 premiership cups?

Add the years, yes, but then how? Words, cursive, roman numerals, binary code?

I'm so pleased to be bothering my non-supporter friends, earnestly asking them for their advice :D

What does the current one look like? Does it have 2010 on it or just a Magpie holding a Premership cup?

If it already has 2010, just add a comma and 23. Then you can add 24, 25, 26 etc.

My son made me promise we'd both get a Magpie ankle tatoo if we won the Flag! Yikes, I've never had a tatoo, but it looks like we'll be heading down to McStay's old man's tatoo shop soon to get inked. At 66, I'm rather old to be getting my first tatoo, but a promise is a promise.

My calf tattoo update will be quite simple as I have the Collingwood logo and underneath the Premierships won during my lifetime underneath 1958/1990/2010.

Booked in on Sunday to have 2023 added and there is plenty of room left for 2024, 2025 etc

Hey RB please post a photo of the finished product. I'm thinking of getting my first one too, but I want to make sure it's a good one. They're kinda permanent after all.
Side by side.

I'd add 2 premiership cups with the years 2010 and 2023 written on them.

Craig McRae’s Copeland Trophy speech:

“There’s still a long queue in the tattoo line. It’s a chance to smell the roses tonight, but I guarantee you, save room for more tattoos. We’ve got plenty of work to do and we’re going to continue to get better every day”

I got the standard small magpie in 1990 on my shoulder and tattoo quality has come a long way since then. I covered it over in 2010 with bigger and better version complete with the wreath around the outside and 1892 at the bottom. Going back again on Monday for a new one on my lower forearm. Mocked it up for my tattooist; tried to upload a photo but can’t get it to work. Google the WEG 1927 premiership poster and add a cup inscribed 2023 and you’ll get the gist. I’ll upload a photo if I can when it’s done.

I don't have one as I don't believe in putting stickers on a Ferrari. :P
I did tell my close friends whilst we were away that if I get to see 3 flags I will get one. Now deciding what to get and where to place it on the blank canvas.

But you've seen 3 flags now. 1990, 2010 and 2023. Sharpen the needles.
