Broadcast/commentary replays?

Post by Rev »

In 2010 I loved the dvd including radio commentary tracks of the game to watch multiple times with the different commentaries.
I can now watch the replay on Kayo and I listened to the rebroadcast of the SEN coverage on Sunday but does anyone know if we can find the audio broadcasts from other broadcasters?
Can any be accessed as podcast files for instance?
Can we create an archive of links in a thread?
Cheers.

This Twitter profile posted the last five/six minutes of the game (along with other clips) synced up to a range of radio broadcasts: https://twitter.com/laceoutofficial

Otherwise, this YouTube account posts full radio coverage from the game from a number of channels, but it's audio-only: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMBkI9 ... mUT1eqlF5w

The Kayo / Foxtel coverage had a lot. I watched it all when I got home from the game early Sunday morning. Was magnificent. If you get a chance to watch and listen to Mason Cox's interview with Abbey Holmes you will shed a tear. What a journey for the big man.

It was an AFL Grand Final for the ages with Collingwood edging out the Brisbane Lions to claim a 16th flag. Re-Live the amazing call of the game with Corbin Middlemas, Clint Wheeldon, Mick Malthouse, Cameron Ling and Brett Deledio

I'm right with you - looking forward to the dvd and hoping to get other commentary - I thought BT and co were pedestrian, especially through the third.
also I remember somebody did a high def ultra slow motion to music on the 2010 - anyone remember who did that?

Best quality GF recording

Post by npalm »

A question for the tech heads.
I want a high quality permanent copy of the GF. What is the best method\format?
I have just bought the official AFL DVD but I'm really disappointed in the picture quality. This, though, may be a problem with my old DVD player rather than the DVD itself.

Thanks in advance.

100's of variables here.
if u have a laptop with DVD player watch it on there to see if its still bad
maybe the DVD Quality is just crap
maybe ur using a DVD player that only did analog signals and not digital like HDMI etc

maybe ur TV is calibrated for the DVD player

and when u mean ur dissapointed with the Quality, is it worse than when u watched it live on 7HD? or u were expecting better than that on the DVD

Should buy the Blu-Ray. Or wait and see if a 4K version will be released. Can I ask - does it feature different commentary options? E.g. 3AW, SEN etc

DVDs are recorded in Standard Definition 480p.
I will be waiting for the Bluray version (1080p) which is payable on my PS4. This is comparable with Foxtel HD.
If they will release it on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc then it might be worth paying $399 for a player ;)

A lot of complaints about quality last year from Geelong fans so I’m guessing they didn’t listen and it’s the DVD that’s bad quality.

Thanks for your post.
To answer your questions: I've tried it on my laptop and the quality is better than on the DVD player attached to the the TV (but isn't that to be expected given it's a smaller screen?)
The DVD player is connected to the TV via HDMI.
The quality from the DVD is worse than when I watched it live on 7HD. I guess that maybe my original question should have been - is it possible to get a permanent physical or digital recording that I can play back thru my TV that is the same, or near the same quality as when I watched it live thru my TV.
