Watching the GF in Brisbane

Where are the Pies faithful planning to gather?
It’s going to be a tough week up here.

The last time I went to a pub in Bris was the Pinnapple for 2011GF; sorry I bothered. Met some awesome Nicks and Pie peeps there, but struggled to contain my anger by the siren, and I was designated driver, so decided to stay at home for future GF broadcasts.
The Pinnapple itself is a good venue to watch sport at though....

A friend is getting married. Yep, that’s what I wrote.

Bright side is the wedding itself is family only, and the reception starts at 5.

So, unless there’s extra time I should be right.

Yes I know some bears supporters and people jumping on that bandwagon going there. Everywhere will be the same
Would be great if the club had a venue sorted for pies supporters up here
Probably end up watching at home too
2018 was bad enough at the QA on James Street

They missed the memo about scheduling weddings on the last saturday in September yeah?

Wonder if they got the venue cheaper because of this date?

Interesting: does the club arrange venues in states other than Queensland for GF day get togethers? I've never heard of such arrangements?
Would be great if they could, but might have their working hours maxxed out during the week?

Story Bridge Hotel was always my favourite place to go grand final day when I lived up there.

Jaysus man, Caxton Street is as close to the Story Bridge as the MCG is to Victoria Park.
And Caxton Street is league heartland FFS.

There is a QLD Magpie Social Supporters group on Facebook (I don’t have it) that is meeting at the Lord Alfred on Caxton St in the Ladbrokes Lounge at 1pm.

my preferred scenario is watching the game at home so you dont miss a minute.. and going out after to celebrate.

yes its a good atmosphere at a bar for the game but can never hear the commentary

Thank Christ for small mercies; saves one the pain of listening to BT, Hodge and the other anti-Collingwood numpties spruke their painful brand of bullshit.
