I’m more angry no one in the media is calling it out. If she stays silent, or stands by her claims, then she’s calling Max Gawn a liar. Melbourne should be filthy about it just as much as Collingwood. It’s caused a lot of damage, many people believe the story and that has consequences.

Can’t wait for the AFL’s response to Weitering, who didn’t get a concussion test until after the game.

Maynard has opened up on the impact of criticism about his apology to Melbourne's Angus Brayshaw.

Yeah, but Carlton won.

I'm not laughing.
Yup. Melb. gifted them a PF.

First by beating Sydney in the last round, so Carlton got a home final.
And then by losing to them.

The AFL is a damn joke of hypocrisy. Both Weitering and Cripps didn’t get concussion tests immediately after head knock incidents.

"I am really close with Angus and have been for quite a while. It was an accident and I have checked up on him a couple of times. I love the guy and it has been pretty full on."

-- Maynard, quoted by P. Ryan in The Age.

Hmm... There's ben a lotta media debate about whether they really are close... Maybe Maynard thinks they are and Brayshaw doesn't?!?

Not sure why you'd not believe Maynard. The two players played together at Hampton Rovers, then TAC and both from football families. It would be odd if they weren't mates off the field.

If you don’t believe Maynard maybe you’ll believe Gawn

“We played with Brayden’s brother three or four years ago, his dad works at the club. There’s a phenomenal connection between the Maynards and pretty much everyone at the [Melbourne] football club”

This thread still going? Can we lock it and move on?
The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.

I 100% believe whatever Maynard says... including when he leaks who he's gonna play on!! That's not the point. It may be e.g. that he feels one way about everyone and they don't all feel the same way about him.

And a connection between the Maynard family and the club is not the same as a connection between Bruz and Gus.

Not that it matters. I'm sure he'll be okay whatever they feel towards him.
