It is quite clear to me, that Brayshaw was concussed 4 minutes earlier when he crashed into Taylor Adams knees and clearly staggered when he stood up. The umpire paid him a high contact free and should have been aware of his condition and now this lands squarely at the feet of the Melbourne Football Club Medical and coaching staff, who SHOULD have brought him straight off for assessment. His inability to see and or evade the larger than life figure of Brayden Maynard says he didn't know where he was or what he was doing. Any court in the land can and will see this as the cause of his concussion and in my book, Maynard would have every right to bring proceedings against those who have slandered him. And I couldn't give a rats arse if he has form or not.

Does anyone have footage of that earlier incident?

It’s about ( on the count down clock ) 18:30. in the 1st quarter , but Bradshaw looked quite lucid when he stood up ( watched on slow mo) , so I don’t think there is much in that incident . However a specialist may view it as a cumulative aspect to the cognition at the time of the Maynard knock and contributory to his final concussion. I’m sure the club will have already got the defence and appeal well under way

Goofy gawk Goodwin dropped Bruzza right in the shit, post match, with his vile comments. In all my yrs of footy, I have never, ever, ever, ever, seen a Coach drop an Oppostion player in like that. Coaches have always said. " Look obviously its not up to me, its up to the MRP or Tribunal, lets see how that plays out, but I cant really comment. ". Goodwin, YOU are a total sore loser prick, of the very first magnitude. Karma bus on its way, pal.

Almost makes one want Carlton to take them out in straight sets next week.

Almost.

So when does the Tribunal sit?

Excellent sequence of photos provided by a BF poster on the Maynard Brayshaw collision:
https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/ ... t-80971137
It shows that the direction of Maynard's motion did not change from the moment he left the ground to smother the ball, and if Brayshaw's direction of motion had not changed, there would have been no collision. However, from the snapshots, it is clear that Brayshaw does change his direction of motion so that he actually comes towards Maynard. Maynard could not possibly have known that this would happen.
Furthermore, another argument has been made that the conditions for such accidents has been created by the new 6-6-6 rule, which was what enabled Brayshaw to have a clear run forward (before that rule, there would have been a Collingwood player present to block his clear run). Since the introduction of that rule, defenders have no option but to run towards the opposition, and attempt to smother/dispossess him of the ball.

Boomer Harvey, who was not a Magpie, said it was a total football accident, in play , NO malice, and he should get off. A s did Lingy and Adam Ramanauskas. also both non Magpies. Oh, and naturally, talkback callers were undoubtedly all Collingwood hatiing flogs, from other teams. none of whom played a single match. Make NO mistake, going by the hysterical comments on talkback, fired up by Magpie hatiing journos, we are still the most hated club, beyond doubt, this hate for Maynard has proven it. Now, I learn he cannot get one week, thanks to that Lana gal, who sent him to the tribunal, with the worst 3 accusations, high impact, severe, etc. He either gets off, or goes for three weeks, and by God, we must do a Carlton, and fight this all the way to the bloody HIgh court if necessary, ala the Cripps hit, full of malice, gets off. WE must take this as far as we can if Bruzza gets nailed, I am so over this inconsistent shit by the lousy Tribunal.

Most football commentators and ex players are saying that the incident was just an unfortunate accident and that Maynard should not be suspended ,so it’s not the usual witch hunt that surrounds Collingwood players going to the tribunal this time.

I think a good bio mechanic expert should be able to prove quite conclusively that Maynard was simply jumping in the air to smother the ball and had no option but to run into Brayshaw .If you look at the video and stills from the incident,Brayshaw contributed to the collision by deviating slightly from his path at the very last moment, something that Maynard couldn’t have possibly responded to in time.

I would be genuinely shocked if Maynard goes down for this. But you just never really know with the tribunal and how the AFL runs its ‘ business’

No doubt Laura will be working behind the scenes to maximize the penalty.

A question occurs to me - I wonder if she is related to the infamous Kane boys?

Well said, no doubt this will all be part of Maynards defence, and it would be damn hard to argue against this. :!:
