Usually whoever finishes on top of the ladder and wins the first final gets their preliminary final on the Friday night to get an extra day before the Grand Final.
Usually the semi finals are placed in order to make sure this happens.
It's happened every year in recent times.
So, with Carlton and Melbourne playing on Friday night this year, is Collingwood about to get screwed over with a Saturday night prelim?
I do think(hope) it's all about the $$$ of having the Friday night at the MCG, which means the winner of Port and GWS will be the losers. It's unfair to them, but good for us.
I imagine there'll be uproar should that not be the case and they put Collingwood on the Saturday...

Saturday twilight 4:35pm Lions v Dees or Blues Gabba.
This is the fixture for the prelims.
Source? I don't see anything official anywhere.
Don't be surprised if we're (unfairly) given the Saturday twilight slot, given that Port/GWS play on Sat.
