Jake watches us plenty. After all, he's a Pie supporter.

Dream job. Wonder if Fairfax pays for his Pies membership.

On replay, though, maybe the mark was difficult? (As so often, Steele there with the spoil. Remember 2010 against Melbourne?)

Brilliant work, Jezza.

Interesting that three of our four closest wins this year have been at Adelaide Oval! (And the other was against Adelaide.)

I am interested in all these footy shows tonight about the blueprint to beat us. They refer to the Melbourne game and also what Port tried Saturday night. They did work to a degree but both games were very close. I wouldn’t call it a blueprint to beat us maybe to slow us down. Remember fly and his brain trust have 5 weeks to go through these tactics. I suspect we will go even harder in finals probably be a little more bold, while there might be tactics to defeat us it’s got to last for 4 quarters and not many have been able to keep it up all game.

The most “ simple “ tactic to beat quality teams is to apply more pressure for longer than your opponents. You can spread defences, you can force the opposition wide, you can press up on the ball carrier, you can “ dirty ball “ into your forward line, you can play the extra at stoppages but if it doesn’t come with a level of intensity thats greater than the opposition, then all those game day tactics don’t stand for much.
As always, execution is more important the plan. Everyone has a plan to beat us, that’s the coaches job but we undo those plans by out pressuring whatever they’re serving up. Melbourne’s and Ports pressure was probably greater and for longer than ours and those games were within a goal of each other.
There’s a stat that’s says over the entire ground, Collingwoods pressure is down around 5th in the comp. But it’s #1 in the back half and that means obviously we win the ball back better than anyone in the backline but move the ball so quickly and successfully in transition, there is little opportunity for pressure to play a part from midfield going forward. If our backline is on, we nearly always get the job done.

Collingwood game plan is still a work in progress and strategies are still being developed so opposition clubs are wasting their time with plans to combat our current methods in the finals because they won’t be the same. However the old saying that it’s better for the opposition clubs to worry about us rather than the other way around is apt. We just need to keep going with the confidence of knowing that we just need to concentrate on us beating the teams we play to remain within the top two on the ladder to give us the best possible opportunity to win the flag.
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm ☔️

I don't think we've seen Craigs full repertoire yet.
He'll be keeping a few things up his sleeve I reckon.
