I predict Frampton will return to the backline and Jeremy Howe will retire.

Re: Injury Update: Round 11
Looks like a full list other than Charlie Dean may be available after the bye.LaurieHolden wrote:Injury Update: Round 11
Multiple players are tracking well to be available for selection in June.
Billy Frampton (Groin) continues to make progress as he recovers from a low-grade adductor injury. Frampton is on track to begin modified training drills this week.
Dashing midfielder Patrick Lipinski (Shoulder) is aiming to resume full training with the main group late next week. A return to play timeline is yet to be determined.
Following a positive review with his finger specialist, Dan McStay (Finger) is aiming to be available for selection for the side’s Round 13 King’s Birthday match.
Joe Richards (Hamstring) continues to make progress after undergoing a setback in his hamstring rehabilitation almost two weeks ago. A return to play timeline will be determined in due course.
Jeremy Howe (Arm) continues to work through a general conditioning phase while he develops further strength of his arm. Howe has commenced contact work and is expected to be available for selection post the mid-season bye.
Charlie Dean (Foot), who is on the Club’s Inactive List, is currently working towards biomechanical and strength markers as he prepares to re-commence running.

I hope Howe goes around for one more season but if he doesn’t, he must be in the team when fit for the rest of this year. His experience in finals is vital and invaluable in the finals cauldron and to he is an automatic selection. Take it from me, never underestimate the importance of finals experience.Take_a_Screamer wrote:I predict Frampton will return to the backline and Jeremy Howe will retire.
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm

If fit Howe will be invaluable for the remainder of the year - he’s a very important cog in our defensive unit and will allow for strategic rotations and player loading management upstream and across the whole team.
Secondly, not sure if this is the appropriate forum but here goes….I believe when fit McStay will eventually end up in the backline where we’re still short (no pun intended) of bigs capable of competing with twin forward towers most teams now have. This would free up Moore to continue in that intercepting and rebound role. McStay is quick for a big guy and can match strength with the gorilla forwards. The key forward role will be filled with strategic recruitment i.e. Harry Himmelberg from GWS….(trust me it’s going to happen). This would fill some of those holes preventing us being propelled into juggernaut status unrivalled by any other team.
The return of Lippy will also take the team into a new dimension. His input has been somewhat underrated but his run, support and positional play is outstanding. Can’t wait to hopefully see all these pieces together and on the park at the same time.
Some selection headaches coming up but what an awesome problem to have

The injury toll that bedevilled the previous coach seems to have temporarily disappeared (with every digit crossed as I write this). The return of Howe (post-bye) and the availability of McStay, Frampton and Lipinski (pre-bye) will be mightily welcomed.
I would suggest that each of the players returning will have at least one VFL game before having a hit out in the Seniors.
The only exception to this would be Kreuger who must complete four solid games at VFL level (without injuring himself again) before he is considered for selection. I would like to see Kreuger trialled at centre half back in the VFL.

Agree with everything Lad except Krueger at centre half back…resilience and being able to withstand being crunched in packs multiple times, putting your body on the line and then being able to finish games and back up the following week, week in week out are essential for this position.warburton lad wrote:

Unfortunately Krueger is either cursed or his body is not suitable for AFL standard footy…a shame if that’s the case as I was a big fan of his recruitment.

The bloke has played 9 (part) games in 3 years, averaging 4 touches. Sidebottom MCL injury
MCL Tear - How long does it take to fully recover from an MCL tear?
The time it takes to fully recover from an MCL tear depends on how severe the tear is. A grade 1 (mild) MCL tear usually heals within one to three weeks. A grade 2 (moderate) MCL tear generally takes four to six weeks to heal with treatment. A grade 3 (severe) MCL tear can take six weeks or more to heal with treatment. If you undergo surgery to fix your MCL tear, it could take longer.

Re: Sidebottom MCL injury
Given Sidebottom's fairly relaxed attitude i am hopping it is on the lesser end / precaution.LaurieHolden wrote:MCL Tear - How long does it take to fully recover from an MCL tear?

Hopefully it is only a two- three week absence.
