In 1958 we were on 13 flags & Bummers & Scum on 8 each

They have won 8 in the insuring 64 years to our 2

Time I feel to right that wrong
I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right

No, the Premiership tally at the end of 1958 was:

[*] Collingwood = 13 (won 2 since 1958)
[*] Essendon = 10 (won 6 since 1958)
[*] Melbourne = 9 (won 4 since 1958)
[*] Fitzroy = 8 (won 0 since 1958)
[*] Carlton = 8 (won 8 since 1958)
[*] Richmond = 5 (won 8 since 1958)
[*] Geelong = 5 (won 5 since 1958)
[*] South Melbourne = 3 (won 2 since 1958)
[*] Footscray = 1 (won 1 since 1958)
[*] St Kilda = 0 (won 1 since 1958)
[*] North Melbourne = 0 (won 4 since 1958)
[*] Hawthorn = 0 (won 13 since 1958)

You make your own luck in this competition. It's just unfortunate we've been runners up too often.

Oh well it’s not as exciting watching replay but I’ll die of a heart attack so that’s how it is.
Go Pies
2018 was gut wrenching indeed; no thanks to cheating shit lump Rosebury.

2002 saw us robbed blind; not for the first time.

We should be 2:1 against interstate filth.

kinda disagree; you gotta be in them to win them.

2019PF left a vile taste in my mouth; particularly for Darcy Moore, who was shattered not to get that chance that the 2018 squad got.

But onto 2023; window is wide open - kick it in further

If we fear losing a GF, we'll never win a premiership ever again.

I understand the phobia because of past history, but the only way to conquer your fears is to confront them.

It's a no brainer for me that I'd rather be in a Grand Final (even if we lose) than live with the regret of "what if" as we did in 2019 and 2022 when we just fell short in the PF.

I hear you, but its a double edged sword mate. 2018 literally knocked the tar out of me, to lose in last minute, with an umpire doing a number on Maynard, that one was far harder for me than 2011 when I consoled myself the Cats were clearly better than us that season, lost 3 times, once very badly. 2018 was just so hard, five points, a friggin nightmare of one kick GFs, so many. If we do get there I wont watch, let alone go, had a gutful of that caper. Tape it, and if we win, find out post game, then relax, open a Chivas Regal, and watch it in peace. Sorry mate, but thats how I roll now, and eg, look a last yrs PF one point loss, im over it. :o

Um, just for the record re 2018 Grand Final, it's ridiculous to say that we lost because of one bad umpiring decision (Rosebury). West Coast won the second quarter, the third quarter and the last quarter. In the last quarter in particular they dominated us. Apart from the first 5 minutes when we kicked 2 goals and a couple of rare forays forward, West Coast had the ball incessantly in attack. They missed several easy chances and then got a goal from the boundary line. The chances were that if not for Sheed's goal they would've got another goal.
The scores were level at three quarter time. The game was up for grabs. West Coast won the last quarter as our boys ran out of puff.

As in 1970 and 1979 we gave up a big lead and lost. And even in 1981 we held a 21 points lead in the third quarter but we still lost. In those 4 Grand Finals we were not fit enough or not good enough or both. Blaming umpires is ridiculous.

As for me, I would never miss a Grand Final in which Collingwood played. Yes seeing us lose is heartbreaking but I was there in 1990 and 2010 and I savoured every moment.

I was there in '64, '66, '70, '77 (twice),'79, '80, '81, '02, '03, and '18 and have been deeply scarred by the disappointments.

To be honest, the joy from being there for our glorious victories in 1990 and 2010, pales by comparison with the hurt from all those gut-wrenching losses, particularly 1970.

I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm ☔️
