He was on the telly this morning at the new cafe with Roughy, not the most polished media performer!
As he mentioned, being interviewed was a change from his regular pre-game routine, so I hope he starts the game OK.
He also mentioned there was a dads goal kicking contest at the Club yesterday, and Checkers Snr took the honors, beating out the greatest goalkicker the world has known.....not a bad story for the pub back home I'd say!

When I first moved to Melbourne I used to live very close to there. Drove through the area a few years ago, FMD didn't recognise anything.Jezza wrote:Great story. Checkers has been one of my favourites since he burst onto the scene in 2018.
Whiplash Cafe is on Auburn Road. Should duck in when I get the chance.
Good luck to the boys.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

The club needs to create an award in this mans honour.
Similar to the #35 given to the first draftee.
Maybe the “most improved” if it doesn’t already exist.
He is a beast who gives his all every week. The epitome of hard work, resilience, dedication and never giving up on his dream!!

I can imagine gentrification has changed the area significantly.stui magpie wrote:When I first moved to Melbourne I used to live very close to there. Drove through the area a few years ago, FMD didn't recognise anything.

Well done. I can't believe it's only 100 games, which speaks to him being a mature-age recruit. Just easing into some form at he right time, too, I reckon. The injury set him back a bit, and he's so tough and durable we overlook him carrying something. I had a sense he was moving a bit more freely last week.
In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.
