Congratulations again to Jack Crisp, winner of his first ever Gavin Brown Medal! The 27-point difference between him and the nearest runner-up also makes this the biggest win in the history of the award, and the third-highest score ever recorded by a player in a season (behind only Brodie Grundy’s 78 points in 2018 and Dayne Beams’ 64 in 2012).

Meanwhile, this is Jordan De Goey’s first ever second-place finish, surpassing his fourth place in 2018. He had an extraordinarily good last month, receiving eighteen out of a possible twenty votes and jumping from 7th to 2nd.

It’s also Brayden Maynard’s first ever third-place finish, surpassing his fourth place in 2020.

It’s the first time in thirteen years and only the third time in his sixteen-year career that Scott Pendlebury hasn’t finished in the top three, although he was well on track to before his injury in round 19.

For Brodie Grundy, who tied with Pendlebury for fourth, it’s his sixth straight top 5 finish.

Jack Madgen, Trey Ruscoe and first-year players Oliver Henry, Trent Bianco, Beau McCreery and Caleb Poulter polled their first ever Gavin Brown Medal votes this year. Oliver Henry is the best first-year player with 4 (and the only one of the four to poll across multiple games)

It’s nice to see Jordan Roughead get a few votes after Nick’s BB voters seemingly forgot he existed last year. This year’s Donut King award for most matches without a single vote goes to perennial Nick’s BB whipping boy Josh Thomas, who played 20 games without any love.

Thanks to everyone who voted this year, and I think you’ll all agree we’ve picked a very worthy winner. :)

Well done David and congrats Crispy. Only ever going to get it in a rotten year.
The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.

Thanks David, take a lot of work i know

Congrats Crispy, never in doubt and will be a worthy Copeland winner too.

Injuries notwithstanding, Shame there is such a stark gap between our best and the next tier

Pleasing to see 5 of our 9 debutants get votes

The fact that nobody forward of the ball polled significant votes underlines the key issues facing us as a team

Thanks David excellent work
No real surprise with the winner he’s been our most consistent player this season
Think the Copeland will go close to the same lines
Only changes I see i Elliott likely to be higher up and likewise Moore who’s first half of the season was AA standard

Well done David - lots of work in getting this together

Good to see Crisp getting the gong - best steak knives ever!

Maynard is the real deal - solid in defence and takes the game on

JDG is going well and the next couple of years are full of promise

Pendles is pendles - super consistent at the highest level

IQ polled well - could well be a Copeland contender in a year or two - has all the goods.

Grundy is very consistent and can dominate games
I think therefore I think - I think
