2019 v Tigers - 17 disp / 7 marks / Kicked 4.3
2018 v Tigers - 10 disp / 4 marks / Kicked 3.0
2018 v Tigers - 16 disp / 6 marks / Kicked 5.2

Not bad form against them.
Even this season when the Crows wanted him out - he still performed.

Tough one.

Cox turns 29 in March.

If the return is high, we'd have to take it. I want to know how much of our cap space he is actually taking. We need to hold on to Grundy, Moore and JDG.

But we are screaming for a FF and Cox is all we have right now. We know his best can be game changing. But his worst is dead set shocking.

For me, I get very frustrated when he isn't holding on to marks, or going up with only one hand.

He's had some big games for us (mostly in 2018), but his 2019 was poor.

I dont think Cox is going to get better than what we've seen. And I agree that Jenkins was a better player. But is a 31 year old Jenkins better?

Mason Cox to Essendon.

Scharenberg to Adelaide.

Hello cap space for a cut priced Jenkins.
Are you related to Noel Judkins?

We get rid of 2 decent players for an unknown ruck (when the Swans were desperate for a ruck) and a shlepper from Pie Floater land.

https://www.thefreedictionary.com/schlepper
We would want an early to mid 2nd round selection for Cox at a minimum I assume whilst any compensation for Scharenberg would depend on whether it was Port he landed at or how desperate Adelaide were to part ways with Jenkins.

Outside of a handful of outstanding games Cox really isn't anything more than a good average footballer IMO who struggles in a marking situation whenever an opponent can keep body contact and has difficulty kicking a goal from beyond 40 metres. At 29 in March how much scope for improvement doe he really have left? Jenkins will be 31 in February himself but has proven to be a more rounded forward and with our window open could be a better short term solution.

I wouldn't be trading Cox if Cameron is our only option coming in but him and Jenkins together would improve our forward/ruck depth above the level of this season.

Scharenberg isn't big enough to be considered a key position defender and is to one paced to play on smaller nimble opponents. Unless we are prepared to trial him across half forward or on a wing in place of Mayne I see his opportunities in defence getting fewer in 2020 with the growth of others.

I'd trade him if it was for something of value in an area of the ground we have greater need in.

At the end of a game, Cox is still tall.

I don’t get the love for Jenkins. He’s an average player in a team that includes Lynch and Walker and was dropped a couple times in 2019 as well.
I’m ok with Jenkins ( just ) if Cox and Miochek remain on our list but a list with Cox out and Jenkins in could hardly make us better.
That virtually makes Jenkins the first banana key forward ( assuming DeGoey has to spend time in the middle ) when he was just average in Adelaide as a second / third option.

Tell Essendon to **** off!

But if they really want him, we’ll take whatever they get for Daniher

Robbing Peter to pay Paul.

There was only one player who had more contested marks in 2018 than Mason Cox and that was McGovern.

Some short memories. He's far from the perfect player, but neither is the guy we'd get to replace him.

Cox isn't going anywhere... unless it's a straight swap for McDonald-Tipungwuti! .

Seriously though, Cox stays. And yep, Essendon are desperate because Daniher is not replying to any of their calls and texts, he's stone cold silent.
