**** football players are dumb dumb dumb
and it is true Stui, google last text, many phones have been found with a text sent at the time of death, not to mention get in an argument with the better half and your distracted.
that said why do the afl have to announce this on instagram??? what are we covering up for them this week??
Unfortunately a lot of the driving population are dumb.
I have had to request taxi drivers remove their earpiece as they were on the phone. Bus and tram drivers using mobiles. Want to catch speeding drivers and rack up some $ for the govt.? Set up a speed camera on a road near a school during morning drop off or pick up.
Brother in law is a truckie, the things he sees people doing while driving especially on freeways. And not just using mobiles.
Red headed chick is on Learners, she has been told to turn off phone on put in glove box while driving.
If you are foolish enough to be contented, don't show it, but just grumble with the rest. - Jerome K Jerome
This has got nothing to damn do with the AFL or the club. Move on.
I ride a motorcycle. I easily see 3 out of 5 drivers on their phones, every single day. So Jordy deserves a whack from the law. But from the AFL? None of their damn business.
No they don't Dave. I don't use my phone when I drive. It is dangerous. It is an offence. But as others have said, let the law handle it. The AFL should butt out.
Well IF I got the Fine Money for people doing it that I have seen I would be a Millionare.

Put your phones down when driving. I don't want to end up in hospital... or a morgue.
Typical Garbadge Jurno's that love to shit on Players and Clubs.
No Wonder Players have Mental Issues
100%. Can’t remember which journo it was (possibly Barrett or Robbo) who recently said they often don’t write/speak about players when they become aware of a story if it is related to mental health.
That’s all well and good but it’s a bit ‘after the fact’ IMO. Can imagine all the negative (and sometimes fabricated) dribble that comes out about players contributes to mental health conditions... but journos think it’s okay to keep writing/sharing the dribble until the player comes out with a medical diagnosis, at which point they may stop.
Apologies for getting off topic slightly but I wouldn’t be surprised if a Club imposes a social media ban for players in near future. The trolling/journo scrutiny is intense and players need protection.

Everyone Does It
Exactly right Dave, everyone does it! If they say they've never touched their phone whilst driving, I'd call them a liar! Just like speeding, its a traffic offence, move on, everyone does it, you get caught you pay a fine, nothing to do with who you work for.
I mostly only do it at an intersection whilst stop for a second if something important has come through, but that's still illegal under the eyes of the law.
Who knows if JDG was using it whilst driving or glanced at it whilst stopped? Most people they pick up are at intersections as that's where they set themselves up to catch people.
Some interesting responses.
Let me say this, I guarantee if your family or a close friend have been killed by an irresponsible driver, some of these responses would be very different.
It’s never a big deal until it impacts you.
Having said that, the laws are in place and DeGoey should only receive the same penalty that applies to the community and nothing more.
The real problem is the laws are to lenient in the first place.

Good thing this is a football club and not a professional motorist association. If here’s any sanity in the world, he’ll cop his fair whack from the law of the land and line up on Friday night as expected.
