I think he stepped up.
Cox was fantastic last night but played a stinker just two weeks ago and only contributed 1 contested mark with zero score last week.

Over the years I always find it bizarre when some people take a singular excellent performance of a player as evidence of that players general standard all the while totally discounting the majority of games when they've failed to have the same significant influence on a match.

Cox has filled a structural purpose but not to often has he been a genuine match winner like last night, that's been the concern and consistency of performance is exactly what turns mere role players into great players.

The simple reality is if he plays similar to last night 2 out of every 3 weeks then no one would ever question him.

As yet he doesn't and that's the next challenge for him.

I suggest next week would be a good time to start.
He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD!

His father was interviewed on tv last night. Does anyone else find it amusing that his first name is Philip?

His friends just call him Phil.

I'd find it more amusing if his mothers name was Olivia or Ophelia.

2 minutes into the 2nd quarter when he marks the ball, and then after he kicks the goal... THAT is the Mason Cox Strut! Play that to the Bee Gees Saturday Night Fever.

News has made it to the Washington Times, but not yet, as far as I can see, to the bigger, better U.S. newspapers:

Some very nice overhead video of MC repeatedly pushing off the defender to get separation and making the lead:

He's learnt. This gives me more confidence for the GF.

I firmly believe Mason reads Nick's noting I posted this:

Cox is just too passive at times for his own good - gets knocked out of contests too easy and his kicking for most lacks penetration (in golfing terms, they would be chips at best) - they spend too much time in the air giving opposition plenty of time to intercept/spoil. He needs to improve to have an effect on tonight's outcome.
