If the opposition don't double team him, he marks, so he's hardly just a decoy. Without him there, the other forwards would have a much harder time finding space.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

You will see 2 or 3 opposition players gravitating towards Mason. This means other players like WHE will only ever get one player at the most next to him.
The goal that came from a mark by WHE over the pack that included Mason indicated that WHE had a clear run at the ball.
Meanwhile Mason was squashed by the opposition. This is what Mason brings.
A clear run at the ball by the other forwards. it is working big time at the moment.
Spot on!
Plus, he's getting smarter every game! His little gives and taps are really, really good.
He was robbed of a couple of marks as well. Other sides will have to sacrifice a tall to try to stop him which allows Grundy and WHE to take easy marks. If we can some how get Lynch it will be scary, but not for us. l.
