I didn't name my avatar masoncox for nothing.
Anyway Mason averaged 1.1 goals in 2016 and 1.6 goals last year.
He will be a much better player this year and will be a difficult player for the opposition to man up on.
I predict he will average over 2 goals per game this year if he is played mainly as a forward.
I am not bullish about us this year at all, but I like Mason's development so far.
If he plays 20 games and averages 2.5 then he should get to 50 goals.

Yep, he played 11 games last year for an average of 1.6.
If he played all 22 games it should have been 35 goals for last year.
So I don't think 50 is out of the question for this year.
Have always rated the big fella and his development.
50 this year? .... It is possible for sure and I hope he does!
Just has to hit it and catch it... his kicking from anywhere inside 35 is exceptional. If he gets the delivery... he could kick 70.
Agree...Cox is the huge X factor. I was so happy when we made sure that we would keep him for the next 3 years. There is no knowing what is possible with this guy. In the past, we had the so called "definitive statement" that Cox and Grundy could not play in the same team. I think that this assessment is now obsolete. I am really looking forward to see what these two guys can create this year
Go Pies!!
Apart from Cox's marking and kicking goals himself, we shouldn't forget about his deft ability to palm the ball to lurking team mates who can snap for goal.
I've been saying for some time that our whole season depends on one bloke and one bloke only....Mason Cox. If he is successful this year, then so too will our team. If he kicks 50 goals, then we will finish top 5.
