That's not a bad idea. I don't cook lamb anymore, various reasons, mainly I don't like it, but it's so oily, that would solve that problem. How did it turn out?
Hubby took off to qld today to pick up a sprint car he suddenly decided to buy, and I took his mum for radiation, a doc appointment and shopping, so the girls and I had a coles chook, and coleslaw with two kinds of home made dressing, and they had roast spuds left over from yesterday! Lazy three days I'm seeing!! then I grabbed a bottle of linndermanns cab sav bin 45 from the stash, and went and visited an old friend I haven't seen for, well a long time! We had a good old natter, and a glass of red, and I'm home chilling with Molly!
Oldest has to get up early, she's crashed, and junior had a wisdom tooth out yesterday, and is still pretty sore, and Beau the puppy had his shots today, so he's Knackered, so she's taken him off to bed. Was going to finish some paperwork, nope. Me, the couch, my baby girl, and the TV control, and the heater dialled up! Utter bliss, cheers!

The old girl can't cop undercooked meat, but she loved it.
There's only one type of pink meat I eat

My mum used to make steak and kidney piestui magpie wrote:Fambly coming over for Sunday night dinner.
Doing steak and kidney stew with dumplings and steamed veg on the side and pea and ham soup.
Man it was good
Another thing I really miss - also Yorkshire pud, bread. And butter pudding, she just did it the best
Didn't have dinner still full from lunch! Just a scotch in preparation for the footy!
Seem to eat just two meals a day here, they are so big! But I've actually lost nearly a kg!
Cheers enjoy the stew Stui! Love dumplings!

Came up well.
Did some meat shopping at the weekend, so this week has been a good mix. last night I did Osso Bucco in the pressure cooker. Schmick.
Tonight I set the old girl a task. She won't use the stove and doesn't feel right with the gas range, but she's been using a crock pot for decades. I bought some lamb shanks and last night asked her if she was up to cooking them in the crockpot. I got a tin of tomatoes and some of the packet mix sauce to add, so all simple.
Of course she complicated things, how did I want this, how should she do this, so i just said to her that she's cooked this stuff hundreds of times, do what you want, all the stuff is there.
She had some fun doing it, about to eat dinner in a minute. Smells good. having mash spuds and Peas with it. basics.

I had the Kao Soi in a great place in Chiang Mai, Loved it. Tasty, some chilli absolutely delicious.Morrigu wrote:Made the better half Kao Soi today.
Roasted the coriander seeds, cardomoms and chillies, assembled the squillion spices, minced the garlic, ginger and turmeric - got the mortar and pestle out and made the curry paste - the smell is fantastic!!
Loved it did he ( haven't made it often cause the prep takes some time). He's off to Zimbabwe in 2 days to spend 2 weeks with the anti rhino poaching Rangers - they survive on very little so best feed him before he goes!
Got the recipe from a place in Chang Mai many years ago - make sure you have it there WPT - num num num !!!!!!!!

hah, just take his credit card.
The pork and BBQ sauce came up real well. The kids demolished half of the 5kg piece on Sunday night.
Did too much jacket spuds and corn cobs so Monday while I had a day off, I used some of them plus some leeks and made soup.
So tonights dinner is soup and toasted pork and bbq sauce sandwiches.
