Buckley at his press conference said the damage was "not structural" ; so assuming they can tell without scans, it sounds just like a bad laceration. If that is correct, I guess that could cost him a week, depending on how fast he heals.
bad laceration my arse, serious bruising. If 85kg lands on your hand from a jump, it's going to hurt, The cuts were from the stops but the hand swelled up straight away.

Plenty of ice treatment he might still be right for the weekend. He came back on so he can play with pain.
He dropped every ball that came his way after the incident, so not sure he can play with pain.

Like we don't have enough players who can't mark, even when their hands aren't damaged!

He was out there trying, so he can. He's had a week for the welling to settle and been training using both hands, so don't see a problem.

A shorter bloke would worry about a defender targeting his hand with a punch in the marking contest. Geelong defenders would need a jet pack to get high enough to do that.

I am sure Mason Cox took a mark after the final siren.

Just hope the big Texan gives the Pussies sheer hell tomorrow, kicks em right in the testicles, then stuff them in their mouths. Go big Mason, tear their old backline too shreds. !!

Now that the swelling has decreased and their is no structural damage Cox will be more confident in his hand add some pain killing injections and he should be right. Assuming they dont go overboard on the injections

That was positively scary. All I could think of was Gabbo's run in the 1964 Grand final.

Play of the year, the whole build up to the goal from defence. Loved how he had the confidence to kick the goal himself. Although I reckon Bucks might have a quiet word in his ear "next time kick it over the top to Varcoe for the easy goal"
