I don't believe they use him properly.
He is a forward ruckman not a ruckman forward.
I respectfully believe it's the other way around.

I see him as a #1 ruckman first, chop-out/resting forward second. In fact, when it comes to rucking, I actually have him as the best centre square ruckman on our list...

I'm not convinced he's done enough in the VFL to deserve a senior berth, but if Cloke is out injured this week, then there's hardly anyone else to play as a tall forward. If he comes in, he should be played in the goal square and Darcy Moore played at CHF.

I think Bucks needs to pull out big Cox this week and show him off on the biggest stage of them all - the mcg. Slip him in and see how hard he can go. He can slide in and out of the forward line and fill a hole down there.

I think he's capable of rising to the occasion when needed. I don't think it's premature to release Cox into the seniors like many here believe. He's had long enough. Time to shake things around now and hand it out to the dopers. He can make deep defensive thrusts when we're short on numbers too.

Bring it on!

The Slay Mason Cox thread

Post by dalyc »

Just getting this thread set up nice and early so when a player in his first game doesn't play like Peter McKenna there's a place ready made to vent.

What's the line set at?

About 8 possessions, 1 goal and 25 hitouts seems about right.

Anything under and unleash, but I reckon he'll cover that.

Useless prick, sack him now.

That handpass in the 3rd quarter to Cloke was dead set stupid, he should have just kicked the goal himself.

from the opportunities he had he should have kicked 10 like Sav would've. 4 is a poor return, even in a winning side.

Piss him off, bring back Gault.

Stats 40 hit outs, 4 goals, 20 possies....

Should we win......It was only Essendon so his solid performance didn't count ......

Or

Should we lose.....It was only Essendon so he should have done way better than he did......

He'd want to get atleast five goals, 40 hit outs and 30 possessions.

I hope he does ok because we're running out of potential New Messiahs. After Cox there's Broomhead and Marsh and that's about it.

But we have loads of depth and experience waiting in the wings to replace half the side don't we? ........

Get rid of Blair for a start, then white, Cloke et al.....and bring all these other guys in that are killing it at VFL level.

I think that's a fair expectation, although I'd settle for a strong presence up forward with a goal or 2 being more a bonus.
