I reckon Swanny is more creative as a forward too. For such a little bloke Blair seems to kick all his goals as a lead up marking forward. Go figure. Swanny takes marks and kicks goals but it's less your traditional lead.

Dr Pie wrote:Blair is a good tackler and reasonably good crumber (much better than Fasolo) If Blair is flying for a mark than someone up forward is not doing his job. If Howe is added to Cloke, Elliot, Moore and maybe White, Blair should never need to contest a mark.
He doesn't have leg speed and he's too short to mark, which says to me that if we get who we say we're going to get (Treloar, Aish and Howe), Blair will be pushed out of the side.

And yet, you look at Hawthorn and see that a guy about half as good as Blair has just played in three successive flags....

Damien wrote:I reckon Blairy is a coaches favourite. Judging by the pic of him and Bucks at Pendles' wedding they are pretty good mates. Either way, he needs to earn a spot next year so I hope he just gets a game on merit. He did ok this year but each year is gunna get tougher for him and after this year he really has no value as a trade

That pic shows us why Blair gets a game each week...

He's a bit better than Blair in all areas IMO.

Besides when you have Roughead, Gunston, Breust and Rioli you can afford a good ordinary defensive player.

Yes, and by some fluke Blair was also Mathouse's favourite  The fact is he gets a game because he earns it.
Well done boys!

Howe will take mark of the year over Blair next year.

Blair's best hope is that he lands squarely on Blair's head and it ruptures his rectum.

Back on topic.

I'm thinking that Kennedy and a 2nd rd pick for Howe and a 3rd round selection might get it done.

Lol, it's like that scene in Flying High, where all the passengers on the plane are queuing up to slap and bash the hysterical woman with blunt instruments...

could you imagine every Pie forward player
going for the mark of the year every 10 minutes!
But with no one front and square!
Play the Benny Hill music now!

Yep, the Yakety-Sax tune would be on high rotation through the MCG speaker system! Have the crowd rocking in their seats!
