1. Cloke contested marking beast.
2. Elliott high flyer.
3. Howe high flyer.
4. Swanny great 1V1 mark.
5. Faz fine overhead.

That's some SERIOUS marking power to rotate through the forward line and none of them are duds when the ball hits the ground either.

If we're going to be bombing the ball long into the F50 time and again I'd rather it be Howe one out than our current go to option of Blair.

LOL.

He's going to have his hands full doing all the chasing after the defenders when the other five forwards all fly against each other for marks. As you say, LOL.

I can see one of two things happening:

- Eliott's going to move to the midfield, or at least spend more time there
- Fas is going to ask for a trade

Tough to play all of Elliott, Fas and Howe isn't it? Maybe if Fas significantly modified his playstyle.

If Howe comes that's 5 genuine marking targets rotating through and no way teams can afford to double team (or triple . . . . quadruple team) Cloke.

It gives us flexability and makes us so much less predictable.

Just need to start drilling our best midfield users to lower their eyes and look for one outs.

I don't think we need to accommodate everyone that says their preferred club is Collingwood - we'll have Gwilt, Suban and Walker nominating us next.

I hope we don't get him because he is not what we need.

No problem having the following forward line:
Elliot Cloke Howe
Fasolo Moore Swan

It means we no longer play the two ruckmen which wasn't working anyway.

Howe high marking areal skills would be great for the crowd ....... and apart from Clokes contested marking we would have to go back to the Picken days or even better Greening' pearlers (unfortunately condensed in one and a half seasons). Maybe Bucks knows how to reprogram the lad to get him to be more aware of what is going on around him so he links better with with our offensive plays. I'd much rather we get Aish who for mine is one great talent.

I don't think there's such a big problem with it. Elliot at his best is a tackling machine and Fas has really come on in that area as well.
They'll all have to learn to work together or they wont be picked regularly, but i wouldn't be releasing Fas this year. Reassess at the end of 2016.

I think Swoop is right. Howe will be competing with Blair for a spot. He's a better mark and able to play multiple positions. If he lifts his defensive game, he'll push Blair out.

If Blair gets pushed out it would be for Fasolo as crumber. Howe would be playing a different role. The whole forward line will need to lift their defensive pressure as no one is a specialist.

I'd say Blair would be a strong chance to hold his spot. There's more firepower in that forward line than we've had previously and his role could become more important and more simple.

The "Blair flying for marks" doesn't change with Howe. That only changes with game plan and other players working hard enough to get back. With no Blair what you'd usually have is no one flying because they're all still up the field.

Blair wont play 10 games next year IMO.

No room for him with Treloar and possibly Howe, Aish and a healthy Broomhead to call upon.

Throw in the reduced rotations and Swan, Sidebottom and Co. will spend more time occupying a forward pocket.

Varcoe will be a good forward option as well. We don't have any specialist crumbers, but quite a few good options to rotate through, so I don't think a crumbing forward is as urgent a need as some others.

Blair is a good tackler and reasonably good crumber (much better than Fasolo) If Blair is flying for a mark than someone up forward is not doing his job. If Howe is added to Cloke, Elliot, Moore and maybe White, Blair should never need to contest a mark.

I reckon Blairy is a coaches favourite. Judging by the pic of him and Bucks at Pendles' wedding they are pretty good mates. Either way, he needs to earn a spot next year so I hope he just gets a game on merit. He did ok this year but each year is gunna get tougher for him and after this year he really has no value as a trade

Swanny basically said at the Copeland that he would be spending more time forward next year.

Considering the only real time they structure up in forwards, midfields and backs is at centre bounces there's plenty of opportunity for hard running good marking players.
