Come on genius - how does Howe get into the best 22?
Whom shall he be dislodging?

Reports Melbourne just made an offer to GCS inc Howe and picks.

@Stevo7AFL: I'll go again .. If Howe goes to Suns, Dees set to get pick 3 .. Suns get pick 6 and Howe .. Dees a steak knife too probably

@theafloffseason: Mark Stevens is reporting that Melbourne will offer Jeremy Howe and Pick 6 to Gold Coast for Pick 3 and "Steak Knives"

Guys in bold are all somewhat unreliable either due to injury, inexperience or just general lack of talent.

If we had a perfect year with everything going our way then you're right, Howe wouldn't get a game. How likely is that though?

Regarding the salary cap, can you tell us what the TPP limit is and how much Howe's 450K is of that in terms of percentage?

I'd do the research myself, but I tend to just trust the club on salary cap issues, so I wont bother. You don't trust them, so you should.

No not personal at all CS, well for starters, Fasolo isn't best 22 so got him covered. I'm a fan of White but would have Howe in front of him...keep going? Moore not ready and should be back so there's another spot...who else...any other small player up forward.
There is Collingwood and then the rest.

From the CBA:

2016 TPP $10,219,000
2016 ASA $1,022,000

Divide the sum of these by $450K.

About 4%.

EDIT (calculator available now): 4.0032%

Howe with some decent players around him could step up a gear.

Cheers mate.

I reckon that's pretty reasonable, even if he doesn't get many games.

I suppose he gets a 4 year contract being only 25 and is there a chance that these numbers could go up during that time due to renegotiation between the AFL and AFLPA? If so, then even better.

It'd be great to know how much other clubs best 22 have averaged in terms of percentage of salary cap spent over the past 10 years or so, but I don't suppose those numbers are available to the public.

Well, the Suns want him,so he can't be that bad.I remember when we found out last year that we were getting Varcoe people here went absolutely ballistic, yet that turned out well for us.The same thing could happen with Howe,if we get him.

In that side I named does not include Greenwood, Howe, Goldsack, White.

There is 1.5 million of the cap in the 2s with just 4 blokes.

What do you think the 24th to 27th best blokes at Hawthorn are getting paid.

We may as well just put a big 'Welcome Mr Mediocre Discards' sign outside the front door.

We finally get A-grade smart with Treloar.
Surely we aren't courting someone Melbourne can't manage to fit into their illustrious list.

Check out Aaron Black - he is pissed he can't get a game.
He has some chance of becoming A-Grade.

Id probably prefer the Casboult/Rocca package.

Howe a straight Swap for Kennedy is a fair deal. My view is Howe isn't worth the $$ he is asking for.
