When did Hine say this... Link?

Commonly accepted among coaches asked in interviews that kicking is the most difficult thing to change once a player gets to draft age.

Warrick Capper was 190cms.. and despite his unco style dropped the ball well and kicked alot of goals.

Chad Wingard 181cm 53 goals <- Port using imagination.
Gunston 193 cm 53 gls <- Howe role?
Bruest 184 cm 52 gls
Jake Stringer 192 cm 56 gls
Tory Dickson 184 cm 50 gls
Josh Hill 185 cm 39 gls

Jarryd Roughhead 193 cm
Taylor Walker 192 cm
Matthew Pavlich 192 cm
Stevie J 189 cm
Adam Goodes 191 cm
Chris Dawes 193 cm

Gavin Brown 184 cm
Brian Taylor 191 cm
Tony Modra 188 cm

Howe could be anything up forward. Especially with Cloke, Moore and Elliott drawing the real defensive heat.
Get back on top.

You present your facts well Cam. Still not fully convinced but then again, many of us weren't convinced about Varcoe either! Time will tell! 8)

Paul Medhurst and Jeff Farmer are probably the smallest recent full forwards at 178cm and 175cm respectively. So I guess we don't need Howe, we already have Blair and Elliott at the same height.
Well done boys!

While I'm not disputing the merits of the players listed above, it is disconcerting that we are contemplating a 25 year old player (with limited evidence on exposed form supporting the premise) COULD be handy.

And that to me is the issue with Howe, he just hasn't found a spot to call his own or demonstrated a capacity for much more than an occasional speccy. I made the same comments about Treloar because I hadn't seen a lot of him, but his numbers are A-grade.

You've convinced me Cam. Nice work mate. It's funny, as I thought Tex Walker was much taller than that. I agree, Howe could well play a Gunston type role.

I think the fact that he's played his career at Melbourne gives him a bit of leeway. In our forward line though, he could be something special.
It is a risky proposition, but we're not talking about a huge contract or a high draft pick here. I reckon he's worth taking a chance on.

According to the Herald sun, we are not strongly linked to Howe

Paywalled. I can't believe the HS is using Dame Edna in its advertising. Serious wtf moment.

Herald sun article that I referred to previously:

"The powerful utility has finished sixth and ninth in the past two best and fairest counts and would likely earn Melbourne a second-round draft pick in any trade deal.

But his spectacular overhead marking also has huge marketing appeal and is a drawcard for rival clubs.

Collingwood has also been linked to Howe but is not considered a major player at this stage."

I reckon we're just sussing out options at this stage. There'd be a few mid-tier targets that we'd have some interest in for the right price.
Well done boys!
