Lambert had to go. Aston Villa has only scored 12 goals in 25 matches this season and that's thoroughly unacceptable for any team (even a relegation-ridden team).

Newcastle had a good run in October and November but they're struggling now especially with Pardew gone and will need to look for a new manager heading into the summer break.

I always found the relationship between Pardew and the club odd. Most fans weren't fond of him yet he seemed to do a good job over there for four years.

A pity their moment in the sun couldn't last, but the forces that make the EPL so uncompetitive are hard to overcome.

Thanks for that article Sixpoints.

I always admired the Bolton side under big Sam around 2004, 2005, 2006 when the side improved drastically from their initial struggles in the EPL in 2002 and 2003. One day I hope they can return to the EPL for your sake at the very least.
