Which wouldn't be all that newsworthy, except Hawthorn's recruiting mastermind is none other than our 1990 premiership player Graham Wright:

So, if they can't get someone with a Collingwood connection straight out of the club, they'll go looking around until they find a second-hand one. The fact that Wright masterminded the recruiting of the current Hawthorn premiership side helps as well.

It is and has been their MO and it's really haunting them now. Remember Elliot declaring that Carlton didn't rebuild?

They have not adapted to having to recruit kids in a competitive environment and develop them which is why they're so shit.

We we about level pegging with them around 2005, since then we've gone on to win a premiership and consistently be in finals with a chance, they've had false dawn after false dawn.
