Keeffe came from a soccer background, he's doing OK. I watched the video DTM posted, you'd be negligent not to look at this kid. We have the money, it's a spot outside the normal draft that doesn't take a spot from a kid, there is no downside to trying for this. If it works, him and Witts can alternate ruck and forward pocket and Grundy can play Ruck Rover.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

A lot of negativity on here. Here's the deal. Old mate Hudson is on his last legs as a rookie, he can't possibly be thinking of doing a John Farnham next year again at 36! If he does, props to the big fella. So we have to assume we are a KPP/Ruck short next season. Enter Cox. May even have to draft or poach another ruck if (touch wood) Grundy and Witts go down.

An athletic 211cm ruck? Has one ever existed in the AFL?
This is exactly the type of player you target as an International Rookie. May need to put on some weight, but having pace and agility at that height already puts him above any AFL player ever as far as I can recall. All of our players over 210 have been fair lumberers.

Well done boys!

Luke Hodge, Stevie J... Who else can we name.Doc63 wrote:What harm can it do if we give him a go? Just imagine if we pass him up, and he ends up going OK somewhere else?
I get your point though, but it happens all the time.
Unless teams go for the national draft and if we finish above N-O-R-F NORF, who gets first in the rookie draft?
I'd think north will be our only challenger in this, wouldn't they?

I'm in agreeance with you. I think it's worth a shot too, especially as they're not taking up a 'spot' on the list so to speak.
A club like Collingwood who has more money than brains sometimes, can afford to do this.
I just hope after spending time at each and every club, he decides it's something he wants to do.
A soccer background can't be a bad thing. His 25m sprint and 3km time trial were very damn impressive for a big bloke!
