I'm glad you said that! When flicking I've come across the odd episode, and when I do I just can't turn it off! It's very moreish!OEP wrote:My wife has me hooked on Downtown Abbey. Great show.

Didn't feel so bad after my sister said she is too, she's a cop!

What did you think? I didn't love all of it, but the dialogue is as great as ever. I cracked up pretty much every time Shoshana said anything. And the thing with Elijah and Marnie was a little bit out of left field, to say the least...mandy wrote:About 5 hours ago.David wrote:Can't wait. Also, I want Adam and Hannah back together.

I liked it. Laughed out loud a few times. I don't think I can even look at Shoshana without cracking up. Great character!David wrote:What did you think? Adam is so awful that I want Hannah to find something better. But part of me wants her to end up with him because that's what she wants.
ps. So happy for her GG win yesterday. She deserves it, whatever those awards mean. SERIOUSLY underated show.

Episode 5 of the Story of film.
The war years.
It started by comparing Italian neo-modern cinema with american Film-noir and examined camera angles, depth of focus and lighting with short clips of some of the films a short interviews directors and producers.
I don't normally go in for such in depth stuff but it was mesmerising television.

Great series. The narrator's voice is appalling but what he has to say & the way it's presented is brilliant in my view.Roar Power wrote:Episode 5 of the Story of film.
