Great work by them, some tough years ahead but IF they do it right they have a good road to success.

In 10 years time… Only reason they have that draft hand is because a) they suck and b) all their remaining good players wanted to be elsewhere. I don’t ever want those two things to apply to us…

They were up and things turned sour. A new coach comes in and has to clean out the past culture to create his own. It starts with youth as a starting point following what Clarkson did at the Hawks. I am biased as I know Adem and in saying that he gets a chance to do it his way. If we fail in the next few years we could be in the same boat, it's the nature of the beast.

1, 6, 10, 11, 18, 20, 23, 24

They won’t use all these this year
They’ll likely use 1-6-10 and one of the later picks (23 or 24) and use 11-18 -20 and either 23 or 24 as trades to get into 2025 draft with extra picks
Likely north will come for 11-18 for there future 1st and maybe 3rd
They would be happy to package up 2 picks in the 20’s for something next year as well
Look for Suns to be active there

What shouldn’t be lost in their haul, is the significance of # 24. That pick will become the first pick on night two and there will have been a bidding frenzy from clubs wanting to elevate to being the first pick on night two. Their haul will only get better and this is probably the pick that nets them a nice future pick when a club gives it up in order to land their target on night two. Pick #24 is their 8th pick on the night, so they will look to bundle up a couple of those earlier picks to move up the order. The final draft order still has a long way to play out yet.

I don’t see us making any positional moves leading up to the draft. We just don’t have the draft capital that makes us desirable enough for any other clubs plans.
Potentially, a couple of our picks could come into the forties, so that looks a bit better. One of the few positives that only comes from late picks is that recruiting team don’t bother spending any resources on the first 30 or so most highly regarded draftees. The club would have honed its focus on a short list of speculative talent that may yet be chosen on a needs basis, rather than a next best philosophy. We’re in the sweet spot for a 194 cm + Hail Mary or two with these selections. Time to go big or go home.

And the worst bit is how many young, talented players have been allowed to rot on the vine because they've entered poorly run clubs that don't know how to get the most out of their people. Carlton and NM are good examples, so many first round picks so little reward. Melbourne is the perfect example of what it takes to get out of that bad cycle by stripping the guts out of a club and bringing in the taskmasters that drive home the standards that are required. This is the biggest hurdle for Richmond as they're a green team both on and off the park.

Waiting for Caroline Wilson to comment on this topic and how shit Richscum have been in their recruitment and how horrible the administration has been Now if this was Collingwood, she would have gone to town with her criticism. This is exactly why I don’t like double standards and hypocrisy. She is an absolute expert on this.

Could we bring in Luke Quaynor with the picks we got?
