^ and I think they made the right choice too. Membrey has runs on the board, and altho 30 (and 2 years older than Hayes), we'll know what we're getting. Hayes lack of senior games was a bit of a worry, despite his awesome debut game against us in 2022.

Tomlinson also seems like a pass now. So we'll see if another team goes there or with Hayes. If not, I guess there's always the chance of a rookie draft selection.

Always admired Membrey. I think he'll be an excellent addition if we sign him up.

We may not have a monster KF, but a combination of McStay, Checkers and Membrey as strong mobile marking forwards should provide a potent attack. Good choice.

I went back and checked Membreys career stats. His pressure based stats aren’t anything special but over his career, he averages six + marks per game and that’s elite for a general forward. He also didn’t have any drop in output in 2024 compared to his previous career averages. He rejuvenated his career when he went from the Swans to the Saints, so hopefully he’s one of those players who thrives in a new environment early. The more I think about it, the more I like it.

As a matter of interest, our probable permanent forwards for 2025 are as follows, with their goal output for the last 5 years:

Mihocek 19, 47, 41, 34 & 25
Hill 30, 33, 9, 14 & 4
McStay 8, 20 25, 28 & 11
Schultz 24, 33, 30, 22 & 12
Elliott 21, 39, 28, 25, & 10

Membrey 30, 6, 34, 34 & 20

So Membrey is easily capable of kicking 30 or more in a season if he gets a go, which is as good an output that we have had from any forward in the past five years.

McCreery dosen't have a five year sample to work with and his pressure forward out put is probably not be judged on total goals (I personally thinkhe will be used further up the ground in 25. DeGoey is the other that I expect to be forward more in 2025.

KPF McStay 196cm 99kg & Mihocek 192cm 99kg
Medium forwards DeGoey 188cm 93kg & Membrey 188cm 87kg
Small forwards Elliott Hill Schultz
In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away

With a full healthy list:

I think Membery is in the 18
Perryman is in the 18
Houston is in the 18

Injuries will come, in the meantime a couple of good regular players playing VFL.

He has signed to play with Vermont. No one wants him at AFL level as he isn't up to it.
