Bytel, Eyre and Kreuger delisted

Post by Jezza »

Jack Bytel, Josh Eyre and Nathan Kreuger haven't been offered new contracts for 2025.

Best wishes to them for the future.

Not shocked with Bytel. I feel awful for Eyre, as his injuries have stuffed his career. And Nathan Kreuger? Well after the game against the Hawks, I'm not overly surprised. We need the KBH version of Krueger!

So Long and Sullivan have survived? Or more to come? Looks like they're culling the injury prone...to bring in Hayes? lol

Heard Sullivan is getting a 1-year extension, but it's yet to be confirmed.

The other uncontracted players right now are; Charlie Dean (R), Lachie Sullivan (R), Ned Long (R), and Reef McInnes.

Can players (Reef) be moved to the rookie list, or do they need to be delisted and rookie drafted?

A little surprised about the Kreuger decision. The others not so much. Does Kreuger's delisting mean we will pick up Membury?

Thought Krueg was a bit stiff, showed promise, thought he would get another season. I see ash johnson survived , thats interesting to say, the very least.

Johnson is contracted until the end of next year.

As I understand it ( and the rules change every year ) the club can simply promise Reef or others that they would nominate them on the day of the rookie draft or even last pick in the ND.
It just gives that player surety, that despite not being presented with a contract over the next few weeks, they will be re signed via the rookie draft. ( that draft is usually held the following day after the second day of the ND ) As long as the club don’t announce he’s been delisted, they control his destiny .. to an extent.

damn im shocked about Kreuger especially with our lack of talls in the forward line...
I really do hope this means there is at least 2 talls coming in from other clubs... otherwise that seems to be a pretty average decision.

Bytel and Kreuger were both serviceable soldiers with a use-by date.

Josh Eyre is a surprise.

The bottom of our list is turning out weaker than I had anticipated, we can't have half a list of these types.
